Recently we were on Krvavica with the Šmarna gora mountaineering club, excellent winter hike, nice view and sunny, only the hut was unfortunately closed, no big deal, we'll come again. Franci.

Where is the window in picture 6? A few weeks ago I was on Krvavica and at Zajčeva hut but I didn't see it.

The window is on the other side of the hill, if you approach it from Zajčeva hut—that is, if you descend by the shorter path directly to Loke.

Almost repeated your tour, Savinjčan, only the loop was bigger because I don't know that gorge. So I was condemned to walk back along the road, but it wasn't hard. A friendly guy, I assume local, explained to me that this abandoned marked path exists, and he told me about another one that bypasses Krvavica under the cliffs to the other side, i.e. right when you come from the top towards Zajčeva hut. Unfortunately I learned that when I was already back at the car. In your description I'm missing where the gorge branches off, since there's a railway and paths that split from the marked path 'za prodajat', I'd put such a loop on my wishlist and repeat it sometime when, like today, other plans fall due to weather. Zajčeva hut was open and visited today, no peculiarities on the path. If no one mentioned, Krvavica has a story that they pushed Veronika Deseniška from it (the Counts of Celje did that) and it supposedly got its name from that, and also from the rocks which are such interesting bloody color. Apparently she still goes there to sit on the rocks at full moon. Good it was cloudy, ghosts didn't bother me.

A friendly local explained to me that this abandoned marked path exists..." ----- Lidija, hi! Unlike you, I tried to find the path and followed it without major problems even though it was my first time there. From the forest road below Zajčeva hut (NW direction) the path branches downhill after about 50 meters at the first bend. The little path is solidly trodden in the upper half, then after crossing the forest road it worsens, but there are no orientation dilemmas, just continue in the same direction. The high steep stream bank guides you exactly to the place where the stream crosses a wide forest road. Go left up along it to the nearby bend (probably one can also descend nicely along this forest road), then turn onto the side ledge. After 50 m on it you spot the first old mark pointing downhill toward the well-visible step of the former path, which suddenly appears out of nowhere. Ahead is a relatively short hike through the "wild" gully, giving the feeling of being far from civilization. On sections where the path is still preserved, we walk above the left bank of the stream, elsewhere along the bottom of the gully, beside the interesting stream full of waterfalls, potholes and rocky chutes. Finally we reach a nice forest road that brings us to the left to the road exactly at the edge of the forest behind Ojstrica. For experienced hikers who enjoy spicing their tour with a bit of off-trail. Otherwise, orientation is not difficult at all, since you can't miss the gully between the hills.

Žajtam, nice additional description, I learned about both variants when I was already back. So only the repetition along the new path remains for the next opportunity.

Is there any green from ramsons on the plain yet before it really climbs the hill? Every year it's like a carpet laid there LP, Ben

A couple more of mine from Krvavica. After parting, three of us continued to Čemšenika. Huge snow, wind mostly drifted the already poor track, so thigh-deep postholing unavoidable. Climbed the steep path. From top of Čemšenika (Črni vrh) off road down to Presedlje and road to start.

Nice tour and nice loop. Did you reach Presedlje past the monument, or to road higher towards Zaplanina? Krvavica in such conditions no joke. Especially slope under window already in dry can be slippery dangerous, let alone winter. Safe steps ahead and LP, Ben

@geppo and @ejti I don't know if you know but you can avoid the window by going on the right side and coming directly to the ridge. Lp, Nino

I haven't dealt so far with avoiding the window. This passage through the window is just a bit more interesting detail of the path and I see no reason to go past it. Next time in better conditions I'll check the mentioned variant - thanks for the tip! lp
