You can't miss the path, lots of tracks from walkers and skiers too ....

Not necessarily... I allow the possibility of error in this modern technology (GPS and Google maps) and in my perception of everything, since after all I wasn't there with you. But based on what was seen and since I was up there on 20.3. too, I didn't find many connections. And tinky proved in some other thread that he knows which summit is which, so now I really don't know nasmeh

If you'd snapped the cross on the summit, there probably wouldn't be any debate hehe. Well, anyway...

So we don't argue, the approach was certainly correct, but it looks like we went too much to the east. Attaching photo taken on Thursday, view to Zelenjak from Palec. Looks like we were to the right of the cross.

Pulled a spur to Zelenjak. On descent soft snow causes slight issues. Descent back to valley solid.
On the saddle between Zelenjak and Vrtača, and between Palec and Zelenjak quite a few walkers and of course even more skiers.

This morning on today's cloudy and windy Zelenjak. The path over Suho ruševje as always solitary, in the distance I saw only a mountaineer heading towards Palec. Significantly more visitors of course at Zelenica, where it was clearing up as I left, so I climbed to the top of Ljubeljščica as well. I also saw quite a besieged Spodnji plot, so the via ferrata is obviously very well visited. More in the photos.

Yesterday, as part of the safe movement course in the mountains in winter conditions, to Palec-2026m.

Towards Palec - that peak in the middle is Zelenjak.

Yesterday late afternoon to Begunjščica, but then I changed my mind on the way and headed to Vrtača, then changed my mind a couple more times jezik

and ended up on Zelenjak. In the afternoon towards Suhe ruševje it sank up to ri.. jezik

The cross on the top has probably fallen victim to the weather conditions.

Tours above Ljubelj are always interesting when we plan just a half-day tour. Also because the drive is short, a good half hour from us nasmeh

Since Zelenjak has owed us since November, and its second peak to me from 17 years ago nasmeh

, it was just the right choice on Saturday. You didn't know whether to admire the flowers on the path more or to look back at its shape ahead of you, which got closer and bigger with every step. And full of expectations, since the ascent to it is marked as very demanding.
But the path to it has solidified over these years, attention must be paid, as in many places. Short but sweet nasmeh

On the way back we went to look as far as the start of the via ferrata, especially the part that should be D in difficulty was interesting to me. Good that it's more at the beginning, so you can change your mind nasmeh

I was on Zelenjak today, and I'm wondering how high it actually is, once 2024, then 2026, or even 2028m.
At Ljubelj I was a bit grumpy, fog almost to Zelenica, then it started to brighten. Around 1600m crazy clear, no clouds, no wind, warm.
Up there a hiker was already waiting for me, we chatted for quite a while.
The hut at Zelenica still in fog. Coffee, gibanica then down the border path.

On Saturday 4.1. I changed my decision and instead of Vrtača I jumped to Zelenjak. Conditions mixed, namely from hard and icy snow, to bare rock and softened ledges. Lack of snow is felt, quite some climbing on bare rock.

Super nice morning on Zelenjak.
Up the border path to Zelenica and further towards Suhe ruševje. Already at Jančmanov kot in short sleeves. To the top no wind. Snow is as much as there is, but it is nicely doable without winter gear.
On descent the snow melted quickly.
It rarely happens that the hut on Zelenica was closed. zmeden
