Description of mountain:
Badacsony is the highest volcano in the Tapolca Basin. It drops steeply southeastward directly into Lake Balaton. The summit plateau hosts several viewpoints; the peak itself is forested but features a lookout tower with superb vistas of the lake and surrounding extinct volcanoes. On exceptional visibility days, views reach Boč, Donačka Gora, and Pohorje. Marked trails ascend from nearby villages, with a pleasant circular path around the plateau.
