Dom Petra Skalarja na Kaninu

Description of mountain hut:
The Dom Petra Skalarja na Kaninu mountain hut is located on a small hill on the Kaninske podi plateau. From the hut the view encompasses the entire chain of peaks above Kaninske podi, from Babanski skednji, Laška Planja, Visoki Kanin, and Prestreljenik to Rombon. Further east are Jalovec, Mangart, Triglav, and Krn; behind Stol and Matajur lies the Friuli plain, and in the distance the Adriatic Sea and part of Istria are visible. In the valley below, the Soča river and Bovec can be seen.
A short walk higher from the hut is the newer bivouac Slavka Svetičiča - Slavca, which is not always unlocked.
