Hochstadel

Description of mountain:
Hochstadel is a 2,681-meter peak in the eastern part of the picturesque Lienz Dolomites. From the summit, where a large cross commemorates those fallen in both world wars, panoramic views extend in all directions. The central Lienz Dolomites are most striking, with highest Große Sandspitze (2,772 m); to the north, High Tauern with Grossglockner (Veliki Klek, 3,797 m); to the east, over 2,000 m below, the Drava River; to the south, Carnic Alps.
