Description of mountain:
Lagazuoi Piccolo is a 2,778 m high mountain located north of the Passo Falzarego pass (2,105 m). From the summit, where a cross stands, there is a wonderful view of the highest peaks of the Dolomites, including Marmolada and its glacier; Tofana di Rozes also stands out, together with its neighbors Tofana di Mezzo and Tofana di Dentro, occupying the area west of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Lagazuoi Piccolo is a mountain known primarily from a historical perspective. During World War I, a fierce battle took place on its slopes between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarian army, which changed the mountain's appearance. The mountain is riddled with numerous underground tunnels, through which an interesting hiking trail now runs, essentially leading through the inside of the mountain to the summit.
Lagazuoi Piccolo also has a "drawback" as a cable car runs almost to the summit, attracting thousands of tourists (skiers in winter).
