Alwitzscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2650 meters and is part of the Schober Group. The saddle is located 4 km southwest from the center of Hadergasse and 4 km southwest from the center of Heiligenblut. The nearest mountain hut is Skihütte Fleißalm, located 6km northeast. Closer is Information Bricciuskapelle, which is located 5km to the north-northwest. 8 km northwest of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 5 km south-southwest from the saddle there is glacier Hornkees. The saddle is located above the valley Gössnitztal.
