The nearest mountain hut is Kasseler Hütte, located 3km north-northwest. A little further is Furtalm. 7 km northeast of the saddle there is lake Sankt-Josef-See. 0.7 km east-northeast from the saddle there is glacier Östlicher Rieserferner - Vedretta di Ries orientale, 1.3 km west-northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Westlicher Rieserferner - Vedretta di Ries occidentale. The saddle is located northwest of the valley Antholzer Tal - Valle di Anterselva.
