The saddle is located in country Austria 7 km south-southeast from the center of Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße and 9 km west from the center of Bucheben and 0.9 km northwest of peak Schwarzkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Palfneralm, located 4km southeast. A little further is Bichl Alm. 6 km west from the saddle there is glacier Sandbodenkees, 6 km west from the saddle there is also glacier Walcher Kees.
