The saddle is located 9 km north from the center of Predoi and 12 km south-southwest of Krimml and 1.1 km northwest of peak Rainbachspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Richterhütte, located 1.4km northeast. bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte is also relatively close. 3 km south-southeast of the saddle there is lake Eissee. 1.2 km south-southeast from the saddle there is glacier Hohenaukees, 4 km northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Schönachkees. The saddle is located north of the valley Zillergründl.
