The saddle is located 6 km east-southeast from the center of Kematen - Caminata di Tures and 6 km east-northeast from the center of Uttenheim - Villa Ottone. The nearest mountain hut is Rieserfernerhütte - Rifugio Vedrette di Ries, located 5km east-northeast. A bit closer is Tesselberghütte, which is located 4km to the south. 3 km northeast from the saddle there is glacier Althauskees - Vedretta di Casavecchia, 7 km east-northeast from the saddle there is also glacier Westlicher Rieserferner - Vedretta di Ries occidentale.
