Hintere Steinkarspitze is 2215 meter high peak and is part of the Lechtal Alps. The peak is located 2 km northwest from the center of Kelmen and 3 km north from the center of Namlos. The nearest mountain hut is Ehenbichler Alm, located 3km northeast. A little further is Hochstanzer Alpe. West-southwest of the summit is the valley Namloser Tal.
