Sandkogel is 1057 meter high peak and is part of the Türnitz Alps. The peak is located in country Austria 2 km southeast from the center of Schwarzenbach an der Pielach and 5 km west-southwest from the center of Anthofrotte. The nearest mountain hut is Julius-Seitner-Hütte, located 4km northeast. Jagdhaus is a bit further away. The peak is located east-northeast of the valley Klausgraben.
