Description:
Schimplgupf is 838 meter high peakon which a cross stands in the Salzkammergut Mountains. The peak is located 3 km southeast from the center of Aurach am Hongar and 3 km west-northwest from the center of Großkufhaus and 4 km northwest of peak Gmundnerberg. The nearest mountain hut is Hochsteinalm, located 11km south-southeast. A bit closer is bivouac Rutzenmoos Unterkriech Bundesstraße, which is located 3km to the north-northeast. The peak is located north of the valley Weißenbachtal.
