Südliche Valvelspitze is 3360 meter high peak in the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 1.7 km south of peak Rabenkopf - Cima dei Corvi. The nearest mountain hut is Oberetteshütte - Rifugio Oberettes, located 3km east. A little further is bivouac Wetterhütte. 4 km north-northeast from the summit there is glacier Freibrunner Ferner - Vedretta della Fontana, 4 km east-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Matscher Ferner - Ghiacciaio di Mazia. The peak is located in the valley Vinschgau - Val Venosta.
