On the Italian side you go three times across cca 10m trampled snow path, nothing special but you need to be careful - that was yesterday.

But I'm still interested if crampons and ice axe need to be used or is it so dry you can go without?

Today I was there. Weather super, on the summit very windy  , which deterred me from going to Kladivo too. On the last ascent there is still quite a lot of snow. I was without crampons but recommend them to you.
