If the info is useful to anyone, the climbing path from Hajnževo sedlo is 100% dry. So, go for it folks velik nasmeh

Today's trip: Vranček - planina Korošica - Hajnževo sedlo - Veliki vrh - back via the climbing path to the saddle - from the saddle also to Košutica - descent via the eastern route from Košutica to Korošica and back the same path to the starting point.

The path is without peculiarities, except some slightly loose piton on the climbing section. Apart from that detail, all protections are exemplarily maintained.

We had protection sets with us, used only on descent at a couple of key spots, and even there there would have been no crisis without them. Since today I didn't know how wet the rock would be expected to be, we took sets with us, precisely because of the descent. Always go safely.

As Trobec already noted in his May report, on Košutica that descent into the notch by the loose rope can cause problems for the unaccustomed (which my better half can confirm velik nasmeh

). Otherwise nothing special. But on such terrain it's important to emphasize suitable rigid mountaineering footwear.

Unfortunately the summit was wrapped in clouds.

The only snow on the entire path - right below the summit.

From Jelendol direction best leave car at end of asphalt, as icy road soon appears, made a couple turns, then stopped with good tires. On foot along road and marked path, past Kofce and to Veliki vrh. Used ice axe, no crampons, in places windblown to hard base, to summit in t-shirt, on ridge moderate wind. No one went directly up south ridge to Kofce, Kladivo seen without snow.

18.1.2025 to Košuta from Mrzli studenec. Conditions are super, most of the time the snow is compact and hard so it goes with crampons without problem.

Park at former road hut and head towards Baba via hunting path. Follow Gerhard Orasch path to summit and descend eastern path to Hajnževo sedlo. Up and down the secured path to VV of course. No snow anywhere anymore, all protections OK.
Weather...five stars. nasmeh

The lower part of the path is more difficult, higher it's just steepness which...

...takes you directly to the top of Baba.

Nicer temperatures and the snow has softened too, so I go along the ridge to Kofce gora and Veliki vrh. I descend the normal path as the snow has already frozen. The road to the first starting point is OK, to the last starting point it is a flat icy road.
