I agree with Kokta. Today on Stol from the forest exit - via Žirovnica path - it was blowing nicely too, especially at the top. But it was a real pleasure to ascend this peak. This year I'm a bit behind, so this was my first two-thousander. Recommend return the same way to avoid crossing snowy areas.

Ascent to Boč before forecasted rain. Up Detička path alone on made track, then other side past the hut and from there by road to start with pleasant chat with local.

marco, thanks! If the caretaker really finds the pole, it would be nice, as it served me well otherwise. I'll probably call him at the first opportunity, if I understood correctly, namely if he found it at all? And arrange where it will wait for me.

I had all the necessary gear too. But nature was stronger. The key is that the end was good. Good luck!

It was really awful. How it must have looked to the "spectators". Without the section of unfrozen snow in between, it would probably have ended differently, as I would have just slid further. That's how I stopped. Otherwise, I already bought new poles on Saturday. But those have some symbolic value. Searching for them or whatever makes no sense, as they won't be findable even in thawed ground. Good luck to you too!

If anyone found a Black Diamond trekking pole below Veliki Snežnik summit, I'd appreciate it. Lost it Saturday 23.3. during a slip that luckily ended well.

Looks like many of us were on Velika Baba today. It wasn't visible in the logbook. I went from Jezersko via the Slovenian route to Ledine, then on a very demanding path (at least so defined) to Velika Baba. I have to admit it wasn't easy, I really sweated. Back I went via Jenkova planina. In the first part the path isn't exactly easy, especially downhill; it's one big scramble. Otherwise only hands and feet (and poles) are used.
Today was an ideal day for the mountains.

Took me about five hours, but I walked very slowly, stopped, admired nature, took pics.

Nice hike on Tuesday, 8. 5. 2012. Jelendol - Dom na Kofcah - Veliki vrh - Malo Kladivo - Veliko Kladivo. Satisfaction was marred only by forgetting my trekking poles somewhere. Gotta buy new ones anyway. Although Black Diamond isn't exactly cheap. But the most tragicomic thing is I can't remember where I actually left them. Yeah, happens when you're scatterbrained. Still recommend the tour.

Katty, long time not here, so probably already did the tour. I needed about seven hours total. But walked at a normal pace.

Today I was on Begunjščica. From Ljubelj via Calvary to the summit, then to Roblek hut. From there towards Tinčkova hut and at junction to Dom na Zelenici. Direct ascent from Begunjščica to that hut several people discouraged me due to snow. Then from Zelenica back to Ljubelj. Long route, but worth it! Survived two calvaries as for knees.

If anyone goes to Begunjščica in coming days on some less demanding path, I'd join.
