Today we went to Stol from Valvazorjev dom via the Žirovniška path. Return over Potoški Stol and Vajnež to the valley past the bivouac at Belščica to Potoška planina. Clouds to 1800m, above sunny and warm. Snow traces, many people.
Warning about wasp nest on Žirovniška at ~1500m where most fallen trees. Swarm from hole by path. Stung the first in the group, rest bypassed via steep forest. Followers also complained they were stung.

Today a nice tour via Sevško Zabreška planina to Stol. Descent the same path. The path itself without special features, very little snow. Windy at the summit, wonderful views.

Yesterday up and down the Žirovniška, not the best choice. Middle section very icy, many dry sections too. So you can choose - crampons on and off many times up and down, or walking with them on dry rocks and ground. Apparently Zabreška is much better choice these days, completely dry. In the summit ascent part, no gear needed.

Barriers raised, car up to 900m or asphalt then ice on road. Above junction straight up unmarked path to Vragovec, then road to planina, marked path to Mali Stol, to here no winter gear, for Stol used crampons. Descent normal path with crampons. Snow, ice, smooth roots, went slowly.

in winter when there is more snow this part is dangerous for avalanches

Today via the Žirovnica trail to the summit. nasmeh

The barriers are raised, dry road to Valvasor. Snow on the trail starts at approx. 1400m. In the morning it was firm and very comfortable for walking. Above Prižnica we put on crampons and thus comfortably to the top. Since we were early, nothing gave way on the descent either. mežikanje
