My buddy and I are also interested if any group or PD plans to go to Großvenediger this August or September? As the previous poster mentioned, a solo ascent is relatively risky..

Yesterday hiked the path from Bistrica via Žmavčarje to Skuta, Štruca and then past bivouac Pavel Kemperl to Kokrško sedlo and back to valley. There are still quite a few snowfields on the path but during the day they soften enough to be generally passable without crampons. Maybe just highlight the entry to the traverse (under Skuta) where some care is needed when crossing or avoiding snowfields. Otherwise once you reach the first protections on the traverse no more snow problems to the top or actually no snow to the top at all anymore.

What are the conditions on the trail Kamniška Bistrica-Kokrsko sedlo-Grintovec? Are crampons needed?

given that both paths (to Kredarica as well as to Planika) run on the south-facing side probably the snow from yesterday has already melted..if there's still some patch somewhere it shouldn't cause problems especially not on Planika which is technically even easier than the path from Vodnik to Kredarica.

Tomorrow I intend to go to Skuta over Kokrsko sedlo. Wondering if there is any snow on that mentioned path?
