To the Dom na Komni you definitely don't need snowshoes, lots of people go up and it's trampled, also to the hut under Bogatin not, it's open until end of March, the warden said so, I was up a week ago. But probably over time, due to many hikers, some parts will become compact and slippery and small crampons will be suitable for less stable hikers

I was in the Theth valley in September 2019 and there was asphalt only to the pass, to the tourist village in the valley an adrenaline torn narrow gravel road. I pushed further in the valley, passing Blue Eye. Altogether to next "civilization" about 7 hours torn gravel, that's some 70 km to asphalt road then to Shkodra. Had slightly raised VW Transporter, met only two Czech bikers and a German with Dacia
To Theth valley tourists driven by SUVs and vans, even to Blue Eye pond. Further nothing seen.

In winter no problem to reach Orožnova hut, it was also open on weekends, don't know how it is now. Further it's quite steep and exposed, but there's also an easier path more to the right, looking from the hut upwards. We reach the Bohinj-Tolmin Mountains ridge a few minutes walk from Crna Prst towards Vogel. Best to ask Franci, the friendly caretaker of Orožnova hut.

Nice that you post, I like to read it, but it would be nice if you posted a bit more accurate data. E.g. picture 26, and I also think the real name is Mišeljski konec, not just something on your own. Let someone else confirm. Regards

On Thursday I was at Vodnikov hut. Up to Konjsko sedlo some snow patches, but passable with a bit of care, further to Kredarica my buddy put on crampons, I went without. One group that went from Vodnikov hut towards Pokljuka had crampons, the path was snow-covered in the steep section, about 100 m from the hut, then they took them off, further it was bare, as far as could be seen.

I agree, I don't know what's so wrong with our huts that they need to be closed, give some more concrete info. Do you want hotels in the mountains like with our northern and western neighbors, gondola up the mountain, reservations in the hut, all sorts of menus, crowds of Japanese who of course bring money. Huts were originally meant as shelters and were really modest. I don't think they have to stay exactly like that, but the charm is in keeping some authenticity, modesty and of course friendly staff. We go to the mountains to experience nature's beauties, learn about shepherds' life on the pasture, taste their food etc, not to have everything like in the valley.

Hello
12-point crampons like those in the picture above (bmare) which you can put on any boot and you can go to Triglav. They cost around 60 euros. Automatic or semi-automatic ones are not necessary, but an ice axe is needed, for Triglav it's good to have two, depending on conditions.
For boots it's important that they fit you well and it's not bad to wear them in the store for quite some time. I have a weird foot shape and LaSportiva Nepal fitted me best, which everyone praises so much, but to me they are nothing special given how expensive they are. They withstand moisture sometimes, not always, but not the cold.
Sometimes for undemanding winter conditions, or long approaches on dry ground I use Alpina Tibet, because it's a bit of a pity to wear expensive LaSportiva on sharp rocks. Price difference is at least 3:1, though these two boots aren't comparable, since Tibet is more of a summer boot.
For very hard snow and steep terrain it's important that the boot is stiff (winter boots are stiff anyway), whereas on easier terrain or softer snow it doesn't matter. The bigger problem is that they don't get soaked on all-day hike on wet snow. Maintenance is important too and I think applying cream is better than spray.
You can of course put as much money into it as you want.
That's my opinion, what do others say?

There are no other routes at all because they are deep under snow. Also from Krma the route in the second part runs elsewhere than marked in summer, or there are even multiple routes.
From the question you probably have no winter mountaineering experience. Accesses to peaks in winter are mostly elsewhere and sometimes harder or even easier due to snow-filled obstacles (gullies, overhangs) which are hard to cross in summer.
But there are other dangers like slip, avalanche...
Now with little snow it is a bit different, can be worse or unpredictable.

No popular routes. To Kredarica is the only accessible from Krma, and even that often deadly dangerous for novices and the inexperienced. Further on and everything else are more or less very demanding alpinistic climbs.

Snow is at the start of Via della Vito but doesn't hinder entry. Went through on Sunday 9. 7.

I got a bit upset and waited for reactions.
If someone asks a question, I think it's normal to answer or advise, not to judge everyone indiscriminately. Whoever asks hasn't done anything stupid yet. I think many don't ask precisely because they don't get answers but only criticism from various people who must comment. If you do things uninformed or even wrongly informed, we know it's not ok. Accidents happen to inexperienced and experienced, because we go beyond the edge of our abilities and knowledge, are careless or have bad luck. In short, everyone must judge the situation they are getting into after prior information and ASKING.
Please, a bit of culture.

I wonder if an ice axe and crampons are needed for Brana?
