Icy road starts right above the village. Above the Saddle (also Kalarsko sedlo), dry and frozen for a bit, then snow starts. Above the tree line, mandatory crampons, windblown to hard, icy snow. Above the saddle Čez Suho, hard as rock, traverse to the hut exposed, the mind suffers a bit. The wind had its day.

Yeah, those meters to the hut are long. You can't even think what would happen if you slip.

Exactly, just one thing: never ever with poles strap over hand so you can drop pole immediately. Always when walking in snow.

@mirank - Also downhill walking, dry or snow, no straps. Happened to me on slip, pole stuck, luckily didn't dislocate shoulder.
