27.5. 2022. Sometimes it's also right to turn back, if it seems that conditions for continuing are not suitable. Then you return. We said we'd go again when the snow melts. The ridge path visible from Orožnova hut to Crna Prst tempted me. Already last time when Marijan and I met Franc the warden at Orožnova hut, he said you can go there. But Marijan didn't believe. Until Friday, when he explained that the path to Lisec is cleared and along the ridge all the way to Crna Prst traceable. That it's scenic and already now full of flowers, we made sure. Lately we meet snakes on the path too. Especially on such less known paths they are. The viper we saw was not friendly at all. But it withdrew. Coiled in a ball and with head up it waited what would happen. Renato who has a sharp eye watched it for a while. When I came closer it withdrew. It has protective color and you don't notice it right away. We kept Maks in the middle the whole way, if something else surprises. We also met some hikers. On Crna Prst it cooled down. No rain though, although some drops on the path. For circular tour from Bohinjska Bistrica train station past Orožnova hut to Lisec and along ridge to Crna Prst and descent to Podbrdo to the train it came to 16 km. And also 1400 elevation. Crna Prst a bit differently but with Lisec visit beautiful tour.

and we are in the greenery and sultriness.

From Ravne and past Orožnova hut along botanical path to the top of Crna Prst and on the other side along ridge towards Lisec back down to Orožnova hut. Although morning looked like perfect weather without a cloud it changed quickly and as usual closed most when I was at the top. Hut on Crna Prst is open again every day from yesterday to end of September. When returning to valley also to Franc for excellent lunch and when I got to Ravne at car it shone again as ordered velik nasmeh

I'm interested in the macadam path from Soriska towards Vrh Bače? Is there any ramp and closed, or is it passable with SUV personal car?

Yesterday nice circular path past Orožnova hut to Crna Prst and further along the ridge to Lisec. After short stop at Lisec, descent to Orožnova hut. After longer stop at hut with tasty jota and pleasant chat with hut keeper. Started hike in light drizzle and fog, ended in pleasant sunny weather. Path itself without peculiarities.

. Once I spoke up when some posted same contribution under current conditions and commented trips. Forum is clear enough what goes where and keeps overview. Sorry mikkeni we are happy with your and others contributions, but quite enough if you post under current conditions. Black Thumb from Kala in thick fog, up steep grasses. Just before the summit I spot 2 who came from the north side then more gathered, windy in gusts, not cold. Descent to saddle and to neighboring peak, down wide gully back into very thick fog.

On Wednesday we went to Black Thumb. Forecast was good but thick fog on top. Snow icy in places so crampons and ice axe essential. Temps -12, but feels around -20 due to strong wind.

Yesterday from home to Black Thumb. Up via the pasture behind Črna gora, back along the Lisca ridge and descent to Orožnova hut.
People for the fingers of one hand. "Botanical highlight" will be in about 14 days.

Yesterday to Črna prst from Podbrdo.

By train arrived at 9am and continued towards Trtnik village. There is a water trough. Then along the cart track to Kalarsko sedlo where the path from Kal and Stržišče joins. In the forest shade I continued quickly and after a good half hour I was already on the meadow. There the real heat started but luckily I didn't have far to the top. On the way I drank 3.5l and was still thirsty. Up took 2h20m, down 1h30m.
