Today Kala and I climbed to Crna Prst. Path nicely passable and fully dry. If interested I'll say from Bohinj side upper part still quite some snow.

That was only the first viper this year that we met. It was a young one lying right in the middle of the marked pathnasmeh

It looks though like it was already adult..
It shows that smaller ones have more warning colors.

I too yesterday on Crna prst from Stržišče via circular over Rodica. From Rodica to Poljanski vrh I went straight on top of the ridge due to snowy traverses on the north side. On the marked path I would need crampons!mežikanje

Today from Vrh Bače I go to Črna prst. The path is dry all the way to the scree below Kontni vrh, then there's a wider snowfield section but steps are cut over it and it wasn't hard to cross. In the steep gully between two walls there's also some snow left, I avoided it by going right tight against the wall. When I reached the top of that gully I had to cross quite a few steep snowfields to climb to the saddle, since snow covers a good part of the path, where it was dry the grass was wet from melting snow. At the top of Črna prst it was warm and slightly windy. After the obligatory rest and snack I return the same way. This is the first time I went to Črna prst on this path and I have to say I really like it. Especially that part where the path goes over the Kobla ridge. Nice greetings

I'm curious what the path from Podbrdo via Črna prst to Orožnova hut is like? If there's still any snow further? Thanks.jezen CAJNA.

I'm wondering if the hut on top is open on weekends. I'd go up if this weekend is reasonably ok. A bit of rain doesn't scare me. I was up there years ago and really interested in flora. Don't remember much from then. My pics don't always come out. In autumn I'm buying new camera and hope better then. If I go I'll attach some. Best.

Yesterday we helped put up plant name signs on the botanical path at Planina za Liscem (http://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/47066/). Then we climbed to Črna prst. Hut was open ("trial") and well visited. Same for Orožnova hut. We avoided the rain quite successfully, or it us nasmeh
Next weeks richest with flowers, recommend visit to botanical path and Črna prst. Some flowers from yesterday at http://www.petersfoto.si/

Today, already at six in the morning, I started from Bohinjska Bistrica. By car I drove from the settlement across the meadow, meadow path, which I don't recommend because it slips on the grass. This little path should only be walked on foot. Then a nice macadam is crossed and along a quite muddy trail - at least today - to the former Dr. Menciger hut. Behind the hut the signposts nicely direct to the Planina za Liscem to Orožnova hut. The path was slippery and wet to the alpine pasture. When it dries it's probably more pleasant. Orožnova hut is still closed today. It should open tomorrow. Above the hut after about twenty minutes the arboretum of native mountain plants begins with emphasis on alpine flowers. Really unique experience. After a good hour at the top. The hut was already open. The caretakers were preparing for the mountain marathon to Crna Prst, which is supposed to take place these days. The hut surroundings all in flowers, views wonderful. And some pics too.

These days it's wet everywhere, as there's no day without some drops falling from the sky. Plants surely enjoy it, we a bit less, especially if we slip over a stump.
