Yesterday, 4 Jan, I took the train to Podbrdo and headed from there towards Črna prst. Snow whitened the valley only lightly, above 1300 m there was a bit more. Below the summit, past the saddle, it was frozen, so I used crampons for the final ascent part.
On top it was windy, felt around -10 °C, so I snacked in the winter room and then headed back to the valley. Descended past the small village Bače pri Podbrdu, ended the route at Slap cabin where they serve excellent trout.
Nice fitness winter tour.

Today's circular route, start at Planina Kuhinja past Planina Leskovica to Rdeči rob, then to Škofič, descent from Škofiča to old mulatjera and ascent to monument of Austro-Hungarian 15th Mountain Brigade. Ascent to Pyramid and peak above Peski, descent to Prag saddle and ascent to Batognica. Then descent over Krn Notch to Planina Zaslap for wheel of homemade cheese and return to car at Kuhinja, 17km 1800m ascent, nice Sunday peaks occasionally sunny occasionally in fog, especially as usual Krn and Batognica. At barrier paid 9€ for parking, everything works ok, parking full, obviously people ready to pay even 10€ a day.

Today 8.9.2023 to Veliki Vrh from Punat, path is nice and well marked, below summit markings a bit worse but follow clearly visible trail marked 1:45h from main road I needed 1:15. Planned to extend path to Obzova but very strong wind on top of Veliki Vrh. Highest peak for another time. ☺️

On the last day of the year ascent to Tolmin Migovec from Tolmin Ravne past Kal pasture, weather fantastic, sunny without a cloud, conditions in the morning OK, on descent from Migovec to pasture quite a bit of wading in snow, with girlfriend we managed safe descent by ascent route

Hello, I'm interested in buying new winter boots. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with manufacturers Fitwell or Zamberlan, or if they are of comparable quality to La Sportiva/Scarpa; to me personally, they even look better. I'm deciding between four models, namely Fitwell Sirius Winter, La Sportiva Nepal Evo GTX, Scarpa Mont Blanc GTX and Zamberlan 2090 GTX.
