The Poličanka stream collects water on the slopes of Degarnik and Košarica. On its way to the Idrijca river it descends steep rocks, forming several beautiful waterfalls. In the lower course it calms into a few rumbles and through gorges and under the Idrija - Tolmin road slips into the Idrijca.

The path to the waterfalls is not marked and arranged. Whoever is skilled in moving in nature and able to climb grade II can view these waterfalls. The waterfalls are interesting for ice climbing during cold winters.

If we decide to visit Poliška gorge (Poličanka), we drive along the Idrija - Tolmin road to the village Reka. There we find the turn-off to villages Bukovo and Zakojca. From the turn-off we continue towards Tolmin another approx. 200 to 300 meters. Right after the bridge crossing Kozarska stream, we turn right onto cart track and park. On foot we continue along the road towards Tolmin to the first blind bend (500 m), right after it we turn right onto the path that quickly brings us into the gorge. In the gorge we continue searching for passages left and right by the gorges and waterfalls. At the second (highest) waterfall, we climb through the undercut well visible from below in the walls right by the waterfall. This is a very interesting passage with climbing around grade II. Further we again continue searching for passages to the meadow by the stream. Throughout the entire path through the gorge interesting passages accompany us with easy scrambling right by the stream. If we are not skilled at this, everywhere there is option for retreat and continuation on easier terrain.

On the meadow we can decide to continue along the bed or along the cart track to the junction with the road leading to village Police. Or on the ridge turn right downhill along the abandoned cart track that was once the only connection to village Police. Along this cart track we cross into Kozarska gorge, down which we descend to the starting point for Poličanka.

Good morning.....

This is really a radio amateur who made the effort to bring all the equipment to the summit. He occupied the summit for a couple of hours, which is how long the competition lasts. I believe there was still enough space for other visitors, because the summit is quite spacious.

Yesterday from Zacchi hut to Velika Ponca, along the ridge to Strug and descent via Kugy to the valley. Ferrata to Velika Ponca without issues, belays in excellent condition. Descent from the top to the fence (pic 33, previous posts) could really be better secured. We follow the path until it drops toward Tamar. Then ridge traverse, where you need to be careful not to stray. Between Zadnja Ponca and Strug, ferrata sign. We followed the marks until we met the excellently maintained new ferrata. There we noticed that it probably leads to the top of Strug, but via a new route. At the top of Strug we weren't paying attention and didn't notice it, or it's not finished yet? To the snowfield all OK. The snowfield and final gully currently no problems.

Darinka. On the first picture the upper part of the approach to Zapotoški Peak is nicely visible. At the top of the gully go left, when you reach the height where bushes thin out a bit. There turn right above the bushes and to the top no problems. The gully can be climbed nicely both up and down. Need to watch at descent to turn timely to the exit ledge. At the mouth of the gully there is a cairn showing the right path. But like in every gully, need to watch for falling rocks so you don't injure friends below you.

Yesterday to Zapotoški Peak from Zadnja Trenta. We follow the path to Bavški Grintavec. When this path above the forest line turns right towards BG, we continue straight up to the saddle Velika vrata (1749 m). From the saddle the grassy ledge in the wall of Zapotoški Peak is nicely visible. Along it we reach the gully, which we follow to the end. At the top of the gully, bushes block the direct approach. We bypass the bushes on the left side, through fine Trent grasses and to the top it's just under 30 meters of easy scrambling. Descent follows the approach route. At the top there is an equipped anchor for rope descent, or you can downclimb.
Also info that on planina Zapotok, under the shepherd hut, there is an arranged spring (trough) and you can get water.

On this path, you need to take a flashlight with you. Viewing the wonderful Zidance cave is almost obligatory.

The via ferrata is harder, especially longer than Jerman. Despite the proximity of the waterfall, the rock is dry. It offers small steps and ledges. The via ferrata has two "emergency" exits. If it's already hard for someone to the second exit, best to use it, as the biggest troubles are from there on. Protections are in good condition. No crowd in it. From the tracks one can conclude no excessive visits. The ambience is fantastic.
