On Sunday at Kriška planina on Krvavec. What mushroom is that?

I wrote to them 10 days ago, no response. By the packaging the new ones are undoubtedly WIDE, but it's unlikely they'd accidentally put NORMAL in the box. I can't find a width marking on the shoe itself.

Request for help: for several years I wore Lowa Renegade MID well, bought at Promontana, normal width. I was extremely satisfied with them, same with the low ones. Then the little toes started bothering me, and anyway I have a wide foot, so I ordered the same wide model in the store. After 9 months without delivery, I ordered them online from Bergfreunde. When I placed the old and new side by side on the floor, I noticed that the soles are exactly the same width. Now I'm in a dilemma, keep or return. Someone told me that's normal, the difference is in the upper part. Does anyone have experience with a similar case? Thanks in advance.

Bohinj locals should just admit they are ripping off. That price quickly exceeds the cost of an overnight stay in a hut, that's not normal. For 3 days 36€, hello!!
In Austria for a similar road you'd pay say 5€ at an automatic till and could stay up there several days for the same price. For those who want to go to Blato for several days, the following days should be much cheaper, since we drive up only once.

My experiences with blisters: on the endangered spot I preventively stuck Leukotape classic directly on the skin and thus prevented socks from slipping. Tested on a one-week cross-country ski tour across Finland. It holds for several days, withstands showering too. It works also when the skin is already slightly damaged. When there is already a blister, of course, one needs to act differently.

I'm not religious, but I respect all symbols that mean something to others and leave them alone. Crosses on summits are not only religious symbols, but also lightning rods, verified from personal experience. That's why they should be respected.

Ante, I warmly recommend you to stop thinking about this route this year!

Falling off the pear tree can't be compared to mountaineering, which involves a certain degree of risk. We don't go abroad without insurance, but at home we think it's not necessary. If we introduced insurance for mountain rescue, we would also set conditions when insurance applies and when not. Inadequate equipment is a reason for denying compensation.
The state should appropriately change regulations, exclude rescue from mandatory health insurance and prescribe special insurance from commercial insurers. They are surely capable and interested in creating various packages that wouldn't deter those who go up rarely. If you're not insured, you pay yourself. If you've already used the insurance, you get a malus. Then we'd see how quickly order would be made. Reducing excessive mountain visits and environmental burden would be a positive side effect of this measure.

That one is Grossvenediger. Sunday was a day for even more white Austrian giants.

In recent posts everyone goes above Koštrunovec through the chimney. For me easier variant via the grassy ledge left of the chimney. Although there's also about 2m of "chimney" here, it's easier to climb on the right side. Then a partly trodden path leads along the exposed slope left of the rock, then traverse the slope almost to the gully and then right up through grasses. At the top of the grasses, on the ridge, both paths join.

In picture 15 in Ločanka's post are the western and eastern Simonyspitze, both over 3400, approach from Matrei to Virgental valley and one valley further, as to Venediger, huts Essener and Rostocker Hütte. Grossvenediger is 7 km as the crow flies northeast.
