What's the road like in Završnica valley? Is it possible to drive with a smaller (lower) car just to Žaga or also to Tinčkova hut? Without shredding tires, of course.

Oh!

Since I'll be in a big hurry, I'd like to drive the car (Clio!) as high as possible... beyond Volovjek.

I'm wondering up to where it's still possible to drive with the mentioned car or where you recommend I start to have as little walking as possible to Gradišče.

thanks and LP

Maybe someone knows how it is with the ramp on GGHA Strasse in recent years? Is it raised or lowered and locked outside of "working hours"?

I assume you're asking about safety gear and not clothes, shoes, etc. Better already right at the start mežikanje...given the question I assume you're not exactly at home in the vertical, probably more on secured paths.

Definitely, helmet first. Let all laugh and sneer to themselves, but we must change that thinking. A few years ago cyclists didn't have them either, today you're the biggest fool on the road if you don't have it on your head. Then I recommend a climbing harness and belay kit. I could say take two prusiks and two slings, but I can't. Better a few € more and buy a ready-made kit with belay plate. Don't buy new "fancy schmancy" kits with some hidden protections on webbing - once you fly, you can throw such a kit in the trash. Via ferrata gloves seem useless to me. True, my hands are hardened from rock, but still - cables are for belaying, not for pulling, climb on rock.

Jump into some climber's shop and get tape for wrapping fingers; choice of narrow (ca 2.5cm) and wide (ca 5cm) version. Sticks like hell.

Today hopped to the saddle; didn't photograph Boštjance because snow is at least half as much as on the upper pic -> ascent/descent on tourist path no prob.

Liljana Zarnik, private seamstress, but she also welds Goretex. I punctured pants with crampons and she fixed them nicely. Price? Trifle (read 5 EUR).

Has anyone perhaps jumped to Peč in the past week? Mainly interested in road condition/suitability for sledding.

Soloing can be safer than roped, not necessarily! Conditions definitely not ok yet; when carried away by slab size couple 10m2, no help anymore.

Grintovci - 1:25000, 1998.

Don't know where you're from, but anyway; Iglu, Matica (on Miklošičeva), maybe Konzorcij even has some in stock, otherwise of course internet. If you send me mail to zs, I can send you the file to it.

Has anyone been up there after Tuesday's "snowing"? On the web camera the situation is even sadder than on those photos; maybe someone knows how (snowy) it is up there now? Probably not even for sledding yet? mežikanje

forgot to mention... how safe is it to leave the car e.g. at Ušivec or Pl. Kisovec for about 2 days???
