Hi,

I'm interested in the current conditions on the route from Bohinj towards Bogatin. I plan to head up tomorrow, concerned about snow avalanches. I know quite some snow has fallen, any info if someone's been that way!

Cenc, to Bogatinsko sedlo is surely trodden and to some two-thousander should be no problem in my opinion, but definitely with proper gear (snowshoes good from Komna on flat, don't recommend for hill). On the penultimate picture you can see the trail behind the hut and two hikers on the saddle. On Saturday it was quite frozen and you could walk without snowshoes or skis.

Just to chime in! On Saturday I was at Dom na Bogatinu with touring skis and have to admit it was fantastic. Actually planned to reach Bogatin but time-wise it didn't work out so I turned back there! Trail from Savica is well trodden, but a bit icy (maybe some crampons), otherwise frozen and no sinking. Sun wasn't plenty, but winter idyll fixes everything Way back from Komna to Savica with touring skis was quite demanding, just because of the frozen snow.
Mukica, otherwise you were right about parking! At seven in the morning there were three cars at parking, at twelve when I came down, no place to park
Next variant is sure repeat, but definitely to Bogatin or to Krn Lake, if not higher

nice pics no doubt! Tell if maybe signs (those for ski touring) visible or all under snow. Hope nice weather for weekend so hike worthwhile. Goal Bogatin with touring skis or snowshoes, will decide.

next week I plan to go to Krn from the source of Savica via Komna! Interested if the hut or bivouac at the Krn Lakes hut is open and overnighting possible? Is the path trodden or snowshoes or touring skis needed?
