Last week I used a nice sunny day to visit the Old Castle above Celje. Recently I got a new camera and wanted to make some test shots. Once the Celje castle was a very popular destination especially among youth and couples. In the castle there was an open restaurant with popular "castle coffee" which older Celje residents probably remember with nostalgia. In today's time the castle comes alive mainly in summer when various cultural events, concerts, plays etc. take place here... The castle is open every day, inside there's a museum on view, now the renovated Friderik tower is open, offering a beautiful view of Celje and surroundings. At the entrance a new small restaurant is open, where you can also play a game of interesting chess
. Asphalt road leads to the castle, or you can reach it also via the famous Pelikan path. Just a few meters from the castle is the popular gostilna pri Kmetec, famous for really excellent cuisine.
