I also conquered Sinjal yesterday. I started also from the starting point, village Glavaš (early morning at dawn). For ascent I chose similar direction as user bos, which differed in that at the junction for Martinove košare you turn left more directly to the summit. The path (and gpx) is described here too. https://planinarenje.hr/staze/glavas-dinara-sinjal?odrediste=dinara-sinjal

This path is more direct and the ascent even, from the top I needed under 3 hours (7.4km from starting point) and I'm occasional hiker. This path seems to me "the best", you walk in lee of hills, less rocky to the ridge and fastest.

Descended on another path, past shelter Drago Grubać.

Altogether with breaks trip duration 7 hours, 16km+. At summit no wind, alone with mountaineering dog, on descent already met hikers heading up in the heat.

zigzag and around and across, very understandably written and full of useful information.

Just mentioning, Maribor-Dravograd is about 71km and not all flat smile that's quite a challenge in one go, almost need to run...

Yes, for tourist hiker quite a chunk in two days.

Three-day example:

1.Dravograd-Hut under Kremžarov vrh = 17.5 km
2...Kope-Ribniška koča-Pesek = 24.1 km
3...Bajgot(Šumik)-Areh-Bellevue = 24.5 km

then gondola nasmeh or 3 km extra joint pleasure

water plenty along path anyway

ribic: uploaded track to portal
https://www.hribi.net/gps.asp?sledid=700

First day to Ribniška koča, 30.8 km walk, i.e. from shortly before 9 in the morning to 20:00, with drinks at huts etc.

Ascent 1874 m, descent 779 m, in short a good hike.

Track mostly on path, maybe 2 short detours first day. As I said, some places strangely marked (nothing), some nice signs and (Š). One junction even across pasture, strung by shepherd.

Anyway to Kope quite steep.

Second day to Areh, 30 km track to road above Šumik. Then private transport, otherwise arrival in valley in dark nasmeh

This weekend I hiked the Dravograd-Maribor variant. That is, via the Šisernikova path from Dravograd to Kremžarjev vrh and then on to Kope, Pesek, Šumik, Areh (2 days).

The path is not well marked everywhere.

For Maribor folks, a good train option (at least on weekends) to Dravograd (Prevalje), a nice hour ride, you start hiking just before 9, the path starts practically at the station.

This solves transport issues which are otherwise not great and no need to chase the return ride.

But the path is tougher from this direction.

It is not yet possible to sleep at Šumik, but they are working on it.

It is always best to call the hut ahead and say the approx arrival time.

On this section now a sign says the mountain path is closed...

Little snow or minimal (13.01), path solidly passable, but caution needed due to ice, esp. over streams (went without crampons). Hut at Šumik has food too.

Why rush to Kredarica, there are other huts around, quiet and homely, no such instant tourism. nasmeh

No, on 16.08.2010 I saw two "mountaineers" (probably Dutch). The woman was carrying a backpack, the guy had the baby in front, who was crying. When they were coming towards us, I couldn't believe hearing a baby who had set out to climb Prag nasmeh

That's not normal either, besides Czechs and Bulgarians in walking gear.

That was on the descent. On the ascent I met no one, on the summit only a couple of people.

Soon no one will be snorkeling anymore either, if they don't go to the doctor mandatorily first and ask the whole profession about this quite natural activity.

Don't make comedies, give normal and realistic tips and the matter is solved.

I don't know what's not clear to some.

People make unnecessary panic out of Triglav.

Look at e.g. some older mountain guide (from the 60s) and you'll see that e.g. Tominšek's path and the path over Prag are something completely normal.

If a person has normal fitness and gear and no other issues (dizziness, laziness, clumsiness etc.), there will be no problems with Triglav, since apart from the long walk and getting tired, there is no special difficulty. The pegs and cables are there to help you ...

Otherwise, you see on Triglav a varied selection of people, tourists etc., which also indicates the relative lack of demands.

Of course no mountain should be underestimated, but there is no need to make a circus.

Plan a two-day trip and go nice and slow, and it will be fine.

That some are bothered by crowds and I don't know what else is their problem; the mountains are ours, let's visit them, let others vent their egoism elsewhere. You can't always sit alone in the cinema either ...

Forums are full of smartassery like "how others don't know how", "how clumsy they are" etc.

If our elders could go hiking in the mountains back then, surely today it won't be an even bigger problem when we have information, top gear etc. available ...
