Hello. Could you please list the complete winter gear for mountaineering in high mountains e.g. with an overnight stay in a bivouac. I want to head to the mountains in winter for the first time and I'm interested in your experienced suggestions nasmeh
Thank you kindly and good luck to all!

Hello!
On Monday I'm heading out with a friend on a two-day trip from Zadnjica to Stenar via Pogačnikov dom and back to stay overnight. Can you suggest a tour for the next day, maybe another ascent and return to Zadnjica via alternative descent?
Many thanks and lots of enjoyment to all!

Hello! On Sunday I plan a walk to Korada, does anyone maybe have info on path conditions or snow conditions? Thanks a lot

Pleasantly tired, arrived home after a seven-hour circular tour. Lokavec-Koča A.Bavčerja on Čavnu-via traverse to Iztok hut below Golaki-Mali Golak-Predmeja-Lokavec. Great sunny sunrise at seven below Čavnu, possibility of Trnovski forest in fully dry (green-red) conditions, from Iztok hut to Mali Golak winter idyll, path fully trodden, so simply enjoyable! Snow on descent to Predmeja still somewhat below the sign of the protected Golakov park. Lots of pleasures and good luck!

On Thursday planning ascent to Lokavec on Čaven and continuation to Mali Golak. Saw there's already quite some snow, what (technical) gear do you recommend? Thanks!

yes, I had a self-protection kit (used it on more exposed spots and ladder), my climbing partner was without it! Recommend, weighing your skills and current conditions!

Today a beautiful day via ferrata S.Korena to Krn and down the western path back to Drežnica. The path is really almost all day in shade. Mostly no snow, except some on exposed places, where I recommend surefootedness, as it can be slippery. Weather gave us a treat today, so no snow (on Planina Kuhinja and south side none at all). In the bivouac at Gomišček shelter the traverse stamp is missing, and dress onion style. View to Lignano, Dolomites, Julian Alps and to Savudrija!

End of the week or on Monday I plan to ascend Krn via ferrata Silva Korena. Do you have info on weather conditions on the route? Is the path completely dry? I read that the fixed protections are great, but I'm concerned about possible snow patches or scree on the path...
Thanks a lot for the help and good luck!

Hi! I have 2 questions:
- how best to connect Salewa G3 ferrata set to climbing harness (the lower one)? Need extra carabiners or just "twist" one into the other?
- in which direction and especially why do carabiners clip onto the cable in a specific direction?
Thanks for the info, even if beginner ones!

ugn, I'm fully aware of that, as I head to mountains with great respect and thought...That's why I'll gradually ramp up tour difficulty with experienced people... Thanks anyway for the necessary explanation!

Thanks everyone for the excellent information, hope it comes in handy for someone else too nasmeh

If you choose to start from Zadnjica and finish at Vršič, then hitchhiking is still valid: if you have a backpack and a tired face, really most passers-by will stop for you nasmeh

Last week I did the same tour from Pogačnik to Kriški podi over Planja saddle (below Razor) on Jubilee path to Mlinarica and Jubilee to Prisank. Path gorgeous, dynamic and divine, ascent to P. varied, you see a huge amount from south and north sides, plus through second window. We descended Slovenska, i.e. ridge to Vršič, although crowded...
Enjoy!!
