Why or exactly what needs to be watched out for at the exit?

Heh, then you'd leave crampons below too and could turn even earlier and be sooner at beer in the valley :P Well, it's really your thing what goal you have and what gear, but anyway... here you assess that there was no special danger, above you yourself write about kicking boots into hard snow... it would be safer with crampons and probably more pleasant too... Heh, girl, if you already decide for such a path in such conditions that you surely could expect, you'd take full gear along. Like taking harness and rope to crag but no karabiners :/

That's right! Gullies, skiing, dry tooling...biggest problem will be not knowing what to do on a nice day...

Icefalls in Maltatal still OK, tested just this Sunday (14.3.). Those not too sunny, so left side of valley. Rechter Dreifaltigkeitsfall, Aluhol, Strannerbach, Kathedrale,... Wintasun already fully sunny. More info here and here. Regards

I don't know why some of you go after Igor, some of you won't be in the mountains as much in a lifetime as he is in one year. Thank God he describes something or advises something, what else would you read (that's why you're up here, I assume). Should this become a forum with ten topics "what's the path via Prag to Kredarica like"? :/ Sorry for offtopic, but you others started...

miran447, I don't know what you did on that course then, to ask such things. At least regarding gear, it should be clear to you what winter equipment is needed. Dangers depend on conditions that change daily. Walking time is very individual and condition-dependent; some approximate summer time as a reference you can find on the net on countless pages. Markers are under snow in winter, so for winter tours you need to know the terrain or go with someone who knows it. The only sensible question is about road drivability. With your post you gave the impression of being a newbie, even a done course and a few winter tours don't change that overnight. It's true, it's better to ask than to head out blindly, but it's dangerous if you think a few internet tips are enough for safe execution; and it's dangerous (irresponsible) to advise people who don't give the impression (which can be wrong) that they are capable of going alone on the tour, instead of discouraging the tour entirely. You can find descriptions of some current conditions on forums across the vast World Wide Web, but that can also be dangerous if you're not aware that they might be completely different tomorrow.

Hehe, yeah they arranged it nicely - as if otherwise no problem, it's about safety. I think they exaggerate a bit when they emphasize it like most touring skiers are so careless that they cross there among operating work machines. OK if there's some such "madman" it's really a problem but to generalize like that I think no. Otherwise in such case probably correct approach would be that some worker scolds him properly and explains that he endangers his own safety first...well on Stari Vrh they obviously chose the approach that for the price of a one-way ticket you can buy the right to move on the slope during closure

tol, I don't understand why publishing the event in the media would be a threat. I assume that in the show, if they decide for a report, they'd give the responsible at STC a chance to explain (and that's thus a better option than hribi.net, where they supposedly don't have that chance). Furthermore it's up to viewers what they'll think. Maybe most would even like that on Stari Vrh they so diligently follow regulations and the report would be positive advertising. But obviously you also think the behavior wasn't correct, otherwise you wouldn't see the post as a threat!?

I think Matjaz_65 summed it up correctly. And yes, janik and all others are invited to Pohorje! But I have to say that otherwise I'm often critical of MB Pohorje managers, but regarding touring skiers and hikers, they (at least for now) hit the right path. Because they understand that Pohorje is some kind of recreation ground for Maribor residents, also hikers and touring skiers who don't buy tickets, and that with various bans they would mainly stir up public discontent and create bad advertising. Elsewhere they'd rather collect 10 eur...

tol, now say, have you never crossed outside the crosswalk or on red? You look left right and if no cars (no danger) (and no police nearby) you just fly across. And do you really always literally stop at every stop sign? Anyway, anarchy is also when sanctions are applied just bypassing the rules - this time ticket purchase, next time maybe 10 euros to the "warden's" pocket... Mariborsko Pohorje has more residents nearby than Stari Vrh (without LJ, which isn't that close anyway), at the same time it's almost the only suitable target here, but I haven't noticed any special crowds or uncontrolled groups. At least regarding touring skiers, if anything, pedestrians are the problem. Anyway, on ski slopes you often see snowcats driving there during operation when there are more people on the slope who don't expect to run into a snowcat at all. Wasn't it just last year on Stari Vrh that a snowcat ran over and killed a child (during operation, of course)?
