Finally on Saturday I managed to put this project under the roof - to visit all things that have "Kamniški/a" in the name. Otherwise these are all fairly simple half-day tours, but visiting all in one day is quite a nice fitness tour that takes you across some lesser-known gems of the Kamnik Alps.

I park the car at the Dom in Kamniška Bistrica and at 6:50 head first towards Kamnik Saddle. The path is fast, I overtake some hikers who started from Jermanca. At 8:40 I'm already having tea at Kamnik Hut on Kamnik Saddle. There's not much sun, temperature is 5°C, clouds are drifting over Brana and Planjava. On the Savinja side conditions are better nasmeh

A little before nine I head back down the same path and at V Klin step onto the unmarked path towards Repov kot. I'm on this path only briefly, as I quickly cross the stream bed and start ascending towards Kamnik Dedec. I complete the whole path in solitude, only at the top I meet two more hikers. Unfortunately we can't enjoy the views as clouds swirl over KSA, but it's still nice for us. From Dedec I head back the same path to Klin, and then along the marked path back to Dom in Kamniška Bistrica, where at 11:30 I stop for lunch.

At 12h I head along Koželjeva path through Kamniška Bistrica to the Predaselj gorge, then another few 100m along the main road to the junction for Kamniška Bela. I turn into the Kamniška Bela valley and walk to Orglice waterfall. Somewhat higher than the waterfall I cross the dry stream bed and step onto the unmarked path leading towards Skok (and further across Šraj pesek to Korošica). When I next cross the stream with water, I don't go straight towards Skok, but turn left towards Kamniška cave. I follow the path, sparse cairns help me. The very narrow path reaches steep grass where some caution is needed. The path then enters the forest again, in the gullies you reach the wall, then along the wall I cross left and after a few minutes reach Kamniška cave. The cave is closed, so I can't go further than the entrance hall. I don't meet any locals either (beetle discovered in this cave - kamniški jamski brzec, Aphaenopidius kamnikensis). After a short break I turn and along the same path past Orglice at 15h return to the paved road in Kamniška Bistrica

Along the road I go those 100m back to Predaselj gorge and continue along Koželjeva path through Kamniška Bistrica. The path is very nice, mostly right by the river, unfortunately way too little visited. After just over an hour and a half I'm already at the start (or my end) of Koželjeva path, at the quarry in Stahovica. There I turn onto the unmarked ridge path towards Kamnik Vrh. The path is very nice, but my tired muscles disagree. Especially on the summit ridge, when you already think you're at the top, but find out it's only the forepeak of Kamnik Vrh. At 18h I stand on Kamnik Vrh and observe the nice sunset which through the clouds throws sun rays right on Kamnik. Coincidence? nasmeh

Follows the descent down, this time to the other side to the saddle towards Planjava and then past Kamniška roža into the valley. Walking time stops at exactly twelve hours. At the parking lot I get lucky and run into a family who drives me to Stahovica, where I get lucky again and just catch the last bus to Kamniška Bistrica. At 19:30 I'm thus already in the dark at the car at Dom in Kamniška Bistrica.

In general, a very very nice tour, but in one piece quite demanding. 12 hours walking, lots of unmarked paths, especially the one to Kamniška cave is quite orientationally demanding. But it's worth it! nasmeh

Where you turned right first on descent, trail goes straight (barely visible) down. You went on the old road, which is not really fun for downhill nasmeh Lower trail part you got somewhere nasmeh Do it again! nasmeh

Grad-Lower cable car station-Štefanja Gora still closed, for road to Krvavec I haven't seen anywhere that it's closed.
trilko8. 08. 2023 08:41:22
You can get to many places from Jezersko, the road there is passable.

@Tine: water is 10 min walk aside at the spring below Bašeljsko sedlo. All year (even in summer rarely dries up). For next time 😜

Polona, if you recorded GPS track check where you reached the highest point. That's probably the summit of Akel.

(BTW, how do you decline Akle? velik nasmeh I assume it's a plural noun: Akle/Akel/Aklam/Akel/Aklah/Aklami)
trilko31. 03. 2023 13:29:05
Yes, we two were those runners. I first saw only Blue, but thought it was a roe deer, my buddy didn't notice you at all velik nasmeh

I checked the description, in my opinion it's also wrongly stated there, at least according to the maps...

Polona, we met, on the seat under Skutman cool

Otherwise on picture 2 it's not Zapečnikova planina, that one is on the northern slope of Skutman, already down towards Kokra...
trilko23. 06. 2022 13:20:35
@Polona: those cliffs under Kozjek are called Vavtske peči?

A lot of useful stuff for the hills left and right above the Lobnica valley can also be found here:
http://www2.arnes.si/~mcelik2/ -> under the tour archive look for Cjanovca and/or Vobnca

Another description to Starec and a couple of other visits here:

Start is Lobnica valley (Vobnica/Vobenca), not sure about road now, but in dry can drive to ca 900m asl, bit below turnoff to old partisan press Jošt.

From there forest road quite high (~1300), then by feel up the steep to Starec. In snow/ice tricky terrain, really steep. No path up. Then can traverse ridge from Starec to Akle. Return same way or find nice passages from steep slopes of Akle back to road...

True, some confusion about naming. As for OSM maps, I'm "guilty", as I edited that part and added the peak names. I referred to data from Geopedie, that's why I marked peaks like that... That PZS map is also a "gem", lots of info there isn't correct, elevations don't match at all...
trilko9. 02. 2015 14:55:43
vukovivek, in picture 5 it's not Šenturška gora, that peak on the left is Kržišče, up there from the other side also lifts from Kriške planina (part of Krvavec ski area).

Does anyone have info on what the path from Češka koča to Kočna is like? Thanks!
trilko21. 07. 2014 10:46:26
Here, from yesterday on Turška gora + another from the east ridge of Kranjska Rinke
trilko24. 02. 2014 18:48:48
ghost, two of us broke trail on Saturday up to Tolsti vrh. No fallen trees, trail is broken, but it's true that lower snow is totally rotten, totally soaked and needs great caution crossing meadows, and stuff waiting to slide down. A couple avalanches have gone already, but caution still not superfluous nasmeh
