The path over Škarjev rob is not a precipice, the last part (half an hour?) is a bit more rocky and uncomfortable - maybe some deeper view, that's it. In theory you can return down the SW gully to Javornik pasture and then past V. and M. poljana back to the hut under Storžič, which makes sense if you want to round off the tour or if during the ascent you actually realize that you don't want to go down there. The path itself through the gully is not that pleasant either, but of course it's a bit more secure than Škarjev rob. SVK is not needed here, and I think a helmet is not needed either - let's leave the theory now, realistically no.

This system is doomed to fail. Already in theory it's on very shaky legs, in practice it will be a flop. All these educated heads don't understand the psychology of the masses. It's impossible that at the very start everyone will correctly line up at the ramps and turning and reversing here and there and puzzled looks and despair. And in the end we users will be to blame because we don't understand how they imagined it and again we'll be irresponsible because we don't follow the instructions and don't use the bus and all their platitudes they serve us daily. A little in defense of all pro and amateur weather forecasters. I read a little about it because I like to follow weather phenomena since I was little. The fact is that our beloved homeland lies geographically in an area where so many variables have to be included in the forecasting models that "there is no god who would know how to put it in". I remember an interview a few years ago, I think it was Gregorčič, when he explained about winter forecasts how a degree of deviation in the forecast (and how easily it can happen) can change the forecast of snow in the lowlands into rain even in the Ljubljana basin, and the reasons why it is difficult to promise concrete forecasts here for more than 5 days. Something similar also happened yesterday and today. #bojan I have a similar experience with a long-deceased neighbor. When I was about 10 years old, he was already around 80. For his/our micro-location, he only looked at two corners in the surroundings and he knew everything about the weather for a day or two. Of course, these experiences of old wise men are tied only to those few square kilometers around their home. To somehow conclude. I also curse them from time to time but realistically speaking I think they try their best and are experts in their field.

#vitan "tourist rabble" is, to put it mildly, a very rude expression. After all, we are all tourists (locals and foreigners) when we go on a trip, and parking behind the house also doesn't set any example for the uneducated. Pero 24, well here it's not just about Vršič. The whole alpine world is being shaped/prepared to the measures of a tourist who is on vacation and has different needs than you and all of us who read this and like going to the hills either during the week or on weekends. There will be even more barriers, Krma, Kot, also for Pokljuka it's not said they won't start counting cars (in other words entrance fee ) and there are other starting points they will close (charge) for access... All under the pretext of ensuring safety and calming traffic. I've been yelling about this here for 10 years already. Traffic can also be calmed without us paying heavily for it. Also free buses become paid after a season or two But that just doesn't work in our beautiful little country... quantum physics for municipal officials or just greed (choose the answer yourself)

I think it's only talking about the top of the pass currently. According to peasant wisdom (which is otherwise lost here) it would be possible to park at the other marked parking lots. But it's an epic excuse after this "lame" winter

This morning while reading about the "new regime" on Vršič I was thinking about my balance of the last couple of years. In Bohinj (exception is Pokljuka) I haven't been for more than 5 years, from Vrata or Vršič in the last 2-3 years I also had in my opinion only one or two-three hikes. It looks like their plan is succeeding. "The locals" who only bring trash to their jewels have been driven away, as guests mostly only foreign tourists and wealthy Slovenians and a couple of "parachutists" of the old school of hill walking come. My stomach clenched when I realized that in the Julian Alps I feel unwelcome.. I hope someone's hand dries up at some point..
