True, sorry, a couple of pics don't belong under Montaz, they were accidentally inserted while writing simultaneously for Prisank post. Pardon

A few years ago I visited the beautiful Pecol pasture twice, once more via the then-old Pipan ladder to Montaz. Potato holidays, 31.10.2024, weather just right for visiting the mountains, I surprise my son and midnight start from Celje to Pecol pasture. His eyes lit up when he saw the mighty range. On the ridge we meet chamois, marmots probably already in hibernation though heard around. Trail well secured, crossing two snowfields no problem, new Pipan ladder much more fixed than the previous one. At the top real summer temperatures, views divine. As often, here too I meet two nice conversationalists and descend back to the valley with them. Almost speechless we lingered a bit longer at the pasture, promised her/it that we would return in the summer. It left, just like with me long ago, also now with my son, a big imprint. Beautifully spent day, full of unforgettable impressions!

During the ascent to Montaž it grabbed him and since this weekend was weather-wise favorable to the mountains we went up the sunny side over the ridge to Prisank. Temperatures at Vršič were zero, the higher we climbed the warmer it got. The path was great, the window with its size enchanted us, belays ok, snow just enough to make a mini snowman. At the top balm for soul and eyes. Views great, below the mists made a sea. At the top we met Silvester and Ivan too, very pleasant company with whom we returned to the starting point. Considering winter is really at the door now we maybe used the last-minute ascent without snow which we're not yet skilled in. Silvester and Ivan, thanks again for company, food and drink and chat which I hope to repeat soon.

Has anyone been up there in the last few days? Any snow maybe?

As far as I've followed they will lower the barrier on 4.11.2024.

Another help please. 13 years ago we were at a waterfall, somewhere between Tolmin, Kobarid. I know we parked at an abandoned inn on the right side of the road, then we crossed the road and went along the left side of the stream, then higher through the forest. Above the waterfall, along which they were doing canyoning, there was a small deep pool, into which you could still go to cool off. This weekend we combed many waterfalls in this area and findings. This waterfall is neither Brinta, nor Gregorčičev slap, nor Šunikov gaj, nor Virje, nor Šumnik. Now I have no more ideas. Please help.

Lijaneja, I always check the weather for mountains on www.yr.no, the best forecast for peaks for me. So far I can say it's accurate to the hour.
