All peaks above planina Koren regularly get visits, you always meet someone, there are never crowds, at least I haven't experienced it. As for the bear - on Menina planina there are (at least) 2 regular residents. Occasionally the bear crosses to Velika planina and it has already been in the Bistricica valley too. So it is not impossible that it moves to the Krvavec group. But I haven't heard anyone report that it regularly stays there.

Yesterday first time on Tuhobić. To the above description I add that from direction G. Jelenja two approach paths are possible, namely the path that starts by the old main road, at the end on bos's picture 2, splits left and right. Right goes a somewhat longer and gentler path that follows the ridge course (a bit below it). This is the path that matches the mark on bos's picture 3. It is possible at the place shown on picture 2 to go also left and continue on gravel/forest road for cca. 30 min, then sharply right upwards. The branch of this path is not marked or the direction sign is covered with "parking lot" Ascent on the left path is very steep. Both paths otherwise without features and well marked (except first two junctions). Wonderful views.

Small request for help: today a black-and-white medium-sized long-haired dog, similar to a border collie, followed us towards the hut at Loki from the farm under Radušnik. Around planina Cirkovnica it suddenly turned and rushed after ski tourers. When returning, they told us at the farm it hasn't come back yet. On their behalf I ask if any tourer or hiker noticed the described dog, to report here or directly to the farm. It's possible it followed someone towards Luče or Kosmačeve Rastke. Lp Maja

If you're planning to go by road or by track, you don't need them. Even otherwise terrain generally quite "packed". Was up yesterday. Regards

Nice greeting to all. Buying new mountain boots. So far worn LS (Trango TRK). Tried Lowa (Mauria), they don't seem bad. Experiences with material wear speed on Lowa + how they perform on first trip, anyone? Relative to foot length I have a relatively narrow foot. Oh, slowly getting back to longer tours, but only a few times a year (kid in between). For local "mountains" I anyway go in trek sneakers.

Condolences to the whole family My partner and I liked reading his descriptions and looking at the wonderful photos that enchanted us so much that we ourselves got excited about the Western Julians. His information about the conditions was invaluable ...

At my window for now only tits, coal tits, individual chaffinches and my favorite - dunnock she comes most often early morning or just before dark, when no crowd at food. Usually on the shelf also woodpeckers, redpolls, greenfinches, little woodpecker. No pine grosbeak for 2 years. Long-tail only once, in pair. Feed with walnuts or almonds and sunflower seeds.

@mihael007: in past winters often goes up. To Planinšek we've so far always made it with just winter tires and our caravan (no 4x4), didn't need an off-roader. Agree with viharnik above on driving style (gotta keep the momentum). If lots of snow, can't go beyond Planinšek - they put up a snow barricade. Once when they hadn't yet, we had to fit snow socks from Ravne - Podvežak turnoff towards planina Ravne, from the flat bit on, because road wasn't driven at all. Cheers

Please for info on road drivability - is the one to planina Pungrat or to planina Dolge Njive better passable? Tomorrow we plan to hike part of the ridge from Škrbina to KT, don't know yet from which end to start

@Franci: it reminds me of that mill in Topla, but as far as I know there's nothing connected to roe deer or young roe deer so probably not that.
