Yesterday we walked the trail we had planned for some time. From home on foot to Trdinov vrh. By car via Vahta it would be over 22 km.
Start at Jurna vas, also start for increasingly popular Mehovski hrib. Trail through villages Podgrad and Vinja vas, crosses road Novo mesto-Metlika and below village Iglenik takes cart track to stream. From there along stream and poorly marked path to the top.

With short break we took 4 hours to the top, about 1000m elevation gain.
Current hiking conditions pleasant (not wet, not hot, not cold), fields and forests have nice autumn colors, only stream not roaring due to low water. Some hikers, at Gospodična tasty lunch.
Along trail some interesting things worth a stop: century-old linden and church in Podgrad, church in Vinja vas, nice hayracks, remains of glassworks (glažuta) below Dolž, stream gorge, large Gorjanci hayrack.... no need to list all - experience yourselves!

Yesterday we were on Košutica. Road from Vranček to Planina Korošica quite steep, thick scree in some places on it. Path enlivened by occasional views and flower admiring. From planina by western path to summit. Path u.m., on summit which fog engulfed soon after our arrival only us three. On very summit and along trail quite a few fragrant Kamnik mushrooms.
On return to planina we stumble on interesting scene-RTS Slovenia (Marjana Grčman and team) filming piece for Summer Scene.(at end reporter sits under cow and milks like real mountain girl)velik nasmeh
On way back on screes can observe chamois.

From Jurna village during snowfall and in poor visibility to the top. The path is wet and on the steepest parts quite slippery. Carpets of snowdrops which cover the slope below the summit were covered by new snow today, cornelian cherry blooms with its yellow color. On top quite a few hikers, upon signing the logbook I see that it is steadily filling up. Descent via the gentle trail, as the steep path and trail over the cliff which locals call little castle are too slippery when wet.

During holidays a bit of wandering around Southern Velebit. Visiting the picturesque Tulove grede turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The hike through Velika Paklenica canyon revealed beautiful views at every step. The breathtaking view of the vertical wall of Anića kuk where climbers from all over the world go has made the strongest impression on me personally. I recommend visiting the underground cave Manita peć, as the path to it offers views of the canyon itself, and the cave hides incredibly beautiful stalactite formations (cave at 570m asl, separate entry fee-20 kuna). I was surprised by the amount of water in V. Paklenica stream, which forms numerous waterfalls, rapids and pools along its way. We also visited the karst plateau Veliko Rujno, where there is a neat little church. (road turnoff marked in Starigrad) Even though we didn't visit the highest peaks, we saw many natural sights that this area offers. Finally, I should mention the diverse vegetation: abundance of cyclamen, sage bushes, wild asparagus, hellebores, blooming acacia and much more. (refers to V. Paklenica canyon)

In Dolenjska it's increasing hour by hour. Official data for N.M. is 31 cm, but in Podgorje villages much more. On Gorjanci even much more.
Regards, now let's go break trail.

We escape the gray fog towards the sun - to Nanos. From Razdrtega to the top via the steep path. Path nice, dry, scenic and varied. At certain spots it gives a high mountain feel.
Lots of hikers at the hut. Vojkova koča is SPP point and Zlatorog trail point so I'm surprised by the very littered plain in front of the hut. Around the benches lie plastic bottles, cans, papers and such. Since there were more of us, we squeeze at one bench and along with our trash into the backpack we pick up the bottles rolling under feet. Looking at the trash it's clear they haven't been there since yesterday but for a good while.
I wonder, what kind of people go to the mountains? And after all - doesn't this bother the hut keepers at all?(I know you'll say the keeper isn't obliged to pick up others' trash but still probably each of us would pick up trash in our yard even if others left it)
And finally - at the hut entrance a sign with the Clean Our Mountains campaign slogan. No bags, but trash as much as you want.

Hello!
I think it's good that Puma started this topic. I've been hiking in mountains for about a quarter of a century and haven't gotten rid of the fear of heights or exposure yet, and it seems it will remain. I've walked quite a few paths that are described in various guides as partially demanding to demanding. But I don't dare venture on paths advised against for the vertiginous. So some paths will remain unreachable for me despite great desire. Every slightly more demanding path instills in me awe and respect, and I never overestimate my abilities. I might even try some more demanding secured path but I change my mind mainly because I'm afraid I'll be in the way of much more experienced hikers. To help you understand me better, I'll describe a situation that happened to me recently: After ascent to a popular peak via a path marked as demanding on this portal, the descent followed the same path. When walking, I'm never rushed and always go carefully. I think I'm not among the slowest, as I complete all paths in the times given in guides or on signs. There were quite a few people on the path, and to those who were very fast I said they could go past me. But a man almost catches up to me at a run. When I see how much he's in a hurry, I immediately step aside for him so he won't nervously pace behind me. But he yells at me for stepping aside in such an inappropriate place (I stepped higher onto a rock from the path, and the cable was completely free too). I'm convinced that if I hadn't stepped aside immediately, he would have cursed me saying that I'm hindering his descent because I'm dawdling.
So: besides vertigo, on harder paths there's also fear of much more experienced people who have no patience for us less experienced. I've also heard rude remarks to those who aren't among the most skilled (where is he rushing, better stay home,... etc.).
To avoid misunderstanding: I'm by no means lumping all experienced people together here. But such cases take away quite a bit of my courage.
I'm interested in your opinions on this topic.nasmehnasmeh

Jprim, I admit I didn't know where this path name comes from. Your nice clear photo offers a clear answer.nasmehnasmeh

I've seen such a chapel only at the source of the Ljubljanica-Močilnik. I remembered it because of its interesting shape.
