After viewing Jošt's blog, I decided to climb Kepa myself. The path is really fantastic. Adding beautiful autumn weather, I can say the escape from foggy Ljubljana was fully successful. Pics here: Wandering along the Austrian-Slovenian border

No, winter gear is not needed. Snow lower down is totally softened (read: mud). Gully below summit is a bit harder, but avoidable.

I took advantage of one of the last nice days and yesterday went to Triglav. Weather fantastic, stood completely alone on top (neither up nor down met a living soul). Conditions on the climbing path to Mali Triglav were quite unpleasant in my view, as snow patches were frozen. Link to blog post
