I'm planning a partial traverse of Pohorje from Slovenj Gradec to Maribor, and I'm wondering where you recommend staying overnight. Better at Ribniška hut or hut at Pesek?

I have planned a partial crossing of Pohorje from Slovenj Gradec to Maribor, and I'm interested where you recommend sleeping. Is Ribniška hut better or the hut at Pesek?

Can you already go up without crampons, especially safe down?

Two weeks ago I walked all paths, so now all times are known, the path is exceptionally beautiful nasmeh Pleasure to be on Pohorje!

You can hike on Pohorje, pohorje

A good hike is from Radvanje to Sumik sumik It's about 4 hours in one direction.

uf, thanks for the info.
It would be very awkward to arrive at 9 pm there and it be closed!
Mbčan17. 08. 2011 15:15:54
Are reservations needed at Grmovšek dom?
Mbčan17. 08. 2011 09:55:20
Well, the main part of the route is planned for the second day, because the bus from mb to SG arrives only at 13.30. The map will be there anyway.
Price plays an important role, because just overnight nasmeh Now saw that at Grmškov dom, even only 9 euros for a mountaineer's sleep. Wow, very favorable prices.

Been up there about 10 times now, wondering if date also needs to be written there? Do they empty the mailbox every day?

Thanks for the answer!

So from the base, if you take time and walk Sunday-like up, how much time would it take? Probably at least 5 hours to reckon?

Actually we're going to Peca for the first time, we're from Maribor, so we'd be there the whole day anyway!

For comparison from Maribor(300m) to Belvij(1050m) we need slowly about an hour plus 15 minutes!
Mbčan26. 05. 2011 08:23:40
At what altitude is the Jakobe parking lot? Then it's another 3 hours' walk to the top?
Mbčan23. 05. 2011 08:20:03
Is there any map online where paths to Peca are marked? Which path is the easiest for ascent, up to what altitude is car access?

Joža, the little problem arose because of the info I still don't have. The walking time only from Lobnica to Areh interests me, so direct path, without various Šumiks,.... so direct path from Lobnica to Šumik. Half an hour I assume is more than enough one way nasmeh
Mbčan20. 05. 2011 20:59:21
No one is arguing, and I don't want arguments on forum, everyone walks as suits them.

Personally I haven't walked the path from Lobnica to sport hotel Areh yet, without extensions to Šumik, Bajgot,.... so I take the blame.

Sorry if I offended anyone, wasn't my intention!
Mbčan20. 05. 2011 09:36:43
I'll go on Sunday, most likely decided to walk this path but still Lobnica (alt.680) and to Areh -(sport hotel Areh) on marked path 5.5 hours seems quite a lot to me!

Regards!
