I don't like opening new topics... but I'm quite surprised that nothing in this style has been opened yet. I'd say many people have already walked something similar.

So, the Saturday idea was to roughly circle the Ljubnica basin. If sticking to it as precisely as possible, I'd have to start in Ljubnem. But Boskovec would have to be left alone, as it sticks out of it. But as said - approximately. So from the hunting hut straight to the ridge, along the ridge to Travnik, Komna and Smrekovec. Turn south - across Kalski ridge, Boskovec, Golte and back to the start.

So, the plan was as in the title - traverse from High Kanin over the Vršiči to Prestreljenik. As much as possible along the ridge, as feasible. Or, as long as we stay at "scree level" and don't venture into alpinism It was clear beforehand that the last part to Prestreljenik, above the window, doesn't go like that.
In the end there was unmarked terrain, searching passages in wild collapsed world only over Middle Vršič and a bit further to "konfina 14/8". Then everything ahead looked "too much" and we descended to marked path. We skipped the ascent to Ugly Vršič due to fog that gathered then. So further along marked to the window and to Prestreljenik.

Looks like we were one of the few that day who walked from Žlebi to the hut...

Parking in TNP is reliably safe only where there is the P sign. Everything else is risky. The last time I was in Kot it was still there... but such a thing can change quickly...

For what I use it for, so off-trail, definitely a great thing, as it shows the terrain very well. Paths (closure) doesn't interest me, I can check that elsewhere
Ok, for the biggest zoom it's obviously necessary to have the premium version, but even one level less shows well.
I notice though that when planning routes errors often occur and it spits out a hugely exaggerated number (kilometers and time). Probably a problem with some formula in the calculation? I don't know, I'm guessing, I'm not a programmer
And one more thing, often there's an error with the location of the peak/summit, that it's not exactly where it should be. But that's probably just a copied error from openstreetmap, because those errors are also quite common there.

For now as before. But local sheriffs have already publicly announced that they will strive for Krma and Kot "same regime" as in Vrata.

Pero, an even bigger problem is when he realizes that in 2nd or 3rd he won't make the turn, changes in between and completely unnecessarily spins in the middle of a steep turn. Then those holes appear.

Uf, the Slatenik valley was interesting... about 100 jumps over the stream in both directions And from there I don't even have my own gpx, because the phone died in the meantime...

I'm not comparing myself to Uli, nor to anyone else faster, so I think there's no fear I'd overdo it. Safety is always in 1st place.

Ločanka, don't worry, it was interesting the whole time. After all, if the journey is more important than the destination, one isn't even that disappointed if they don't reach the top

Two main mistakes with off-trail hiking:
1. you shouldn't be in a hurry. Or you shouldn't plan any additional activities in the afternoon.
2. if there's a good description of the route left, it's good to read it well too. Maybe take a photo with your phone...

Anyway, it was an interesting tour in the end. Even if not all the way to the top.

It has seen better times... but with some feeling for driving on gravel it can be done quite normally. The most "critical" places are the bend under Jak's monument and right after the Konec/Jermanca intersection there is a deep ditch.

It's been a long time since I went up from the direction of Kalška gora (to there by the old path). Actually it's been a long time since I've been up in dry conditions... high time to fix that

I agree, 5000€ is not 5000 pieces...at 1€ or some cent more I pay for it in Hofer. Whoever gets 5000 pieces buys from the producer or at least wholesaler, at lower price. And as legal person without VAT (so it doesn't get charged 2x). So less than 1€ per piece.
30k difference at 5k beers I think more than covers staff costs and something else.

Anyway I don't claim anywhere that anyone as hut keeper will get hugely rich. No one got hugely rich with such work, more with some malversations. Even jumbo posters of good friend of prime minister invite to tax evasion...but let's leave politics
I'll conclude like some before me: these prices don't hurt me much, if I want to drink beer up there I'll carry it myself all the way to the top, if I order it in the hut from time to time (otherwise I very rarely stop there at all) it won't kill me either
