dear programmers, can you tune these ads so I'm not forever the ten-thousandth visitor of this site; or so that instead of the i-pad I've got a hundred times already, I get something else?

But it looks like the user put the ad movie up there, since it's in his compartment, in his post. Until you started this thread I thought individual users advertise some products, then I learn it's not, it's the admin. Hm...

Currently I have no ads. When they appear to me, right-click, but not on the ad, then click refresh and the ads disappear for me. I wish the same for you too!

It seems we're doomed to ads! I didn't have problems with them because I had a protection program enabled. But I had to disable it today because they blocked me and notified me that I can access hribi.net only for a fee. Now I'm interested in how much that amount (annual) would be if someone decided to do so. Regards

Well, up there you have the tab Remove ads and there is info that the annual amount is 30e. There are still other options

Ha ha ha, there's still a small sea of options, right admin? Some of us also know how to work a bit with PC, just like flying over hills.

Good, quality and creatively made ads I look at with pleasure. Screaming "LOOK-AT-ME" and similar annoying contents I skip right from the start. Preferably with a browser add-on that simply blocks these things. All kinds of flashing and blinking contents are terribly disturbing to me and take attention, so I'm even more motivated to remove this mess. Admin, although the site is extremely useful and I occasionally use it with pleasure, this kind of imposition is the drop over the edge - just like the failed Piano system. It feels just fine that your advertising is not just about covering current costs, but mainly about making money. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but approach it with a different attitude, with heart and user in mind. Imposition repels and I was even about to offer 30 euros to the first one who blocks these annoying windows for me. But I've already fixed it with a script. Let me give an example of two sites where ads except maybe some exception are nicely integrated into the page, they are one of the few I regularly click (yes, I set an exception so it doesn't block ads on these two sites): http://www.gore-ljudje.net/ http://www.mtb.si/ Will it work? Won't it? Keep in mind that the web is for users and not vice versa, and that with some free promotion you can quickly figure out how to block ads (and warnings). Good solutions reasonable people appreciate (and click ).

Hello, Let me add some explanations regarding ads. Regarding the Iprom videoscroll ad, it's shown to each user at most 2 times a day. I understand that ads are annoying for some and at first glance may seem unnecessary. However, without ads a lot of content available today wouldn't exist. Without ads it's unfortunately not possible to develop the website further. Since ads bother some very much, we've kindly added an alternative to disable ads for 30€ annually. If some individual found a way to bypass showing ads, we had nothing against it. However, if someone publishes instructions so that everyone bypasses showing ads, I hope you understand that it harms us and that's why we've blocked such a method. Somehow the impression is created that the website was made casually and now we're just profiting from ads. A huge amount of time has been invested in the website, probably much more than most imagine, and we always try to consider users' opinions and suggestions. In the future, we'll continue to strive to make hribi.net websites even better, unfortunately without financial resources it's hard to devote time to developing these websites. LP Rok

Rok, I think that's completely understandable and I share the opinion that nowadays you need to find a way to generate revenue for a website. Creation - from the user's eyes, it would be better to direct all innovation around displaying warnings for blocking ads into making a friendlier, integrated solution. I spend a huge amount of time on the web, but hats off, such solutions with pop-up windows and really tough anti-block approach I haven't seen anywhere yet For example, the trail database with additional photos is extremely useful to me, sometimes invaluable. I can roughly imagine how many hours are captured in making it. Well, idea - this content can be made only for members, with some minimal contribution; or show non-members only the trail description, members all other info (photos, GPS, map...). As said, users understand the need for advertising and appreciate good solutions, but imposition most won't tolerate well and if the user base migrates elsewhere, you probably didn't want that, right? It's also clear that we Subalpines are sometimes really messed up in these areas - if I caricature, some would even want payment for browsing the web

Watching TV (less and less), ads => switch to another channel . . . . watch, ads => switch to another channel . . . . watch . . . turn off. Somewhere else I write a comment, describe where I was, .... flash ad, write . . . flash ad . . . . write less . . . flash flash ad . . . and another one . . . no more writing.
