In the boots under the usual insoles there are also orange insoles which say you can take them out if they fit your foot better, maybe panorama didn't notice that

Yeah yeah, but you didn't read properly. I'm talking about too narrow shoes, not too low.

The Tibet were a bit narrow for me too, but I didn't feel it right away. After first use I took them to the shoemaker who stretched them in front for a couple days, then no problem. I do have quite a wide foot in front. Even running shoes I had to choose wider models.

Alpina now has the tibetV model, those seemed a bit wider in front to me

hi.... I bought Alpina Nepal a few days ago, did two hikes, and I can say they are super. I also have Alpina Lhotse, and I complained about them once right at the start, they fixed the defect, and now they work without problems!!! My feet obviously fit Alpina shoes.... regards

Mine too, it seems. I first tried Nepal and TibetV; they were ok. Then Lhotse - wow - and they went home with me from the store

Blessed are all who fit into any shoes, I have to have quite some luck to get a suitable shoe, whether it's a regular shoe or a hiking boot, when I go to a shoe store I'm there even for an hour trying different models and sizes, but no model fits me at all, usually it's like that...

Lhotse is a very good shoe, I've had it for a year already. And it's our Slovenian one too. Hribovc try it, it won't cost you anything. Regards

In Hervist today I tried the Alpina Rombon hiking boot. This rarely happens to me, that the first shoe I try fits like a glove, or as they say, fits like dad on mom . It's on sale for 75 euros.

To all who praise Lhotse so much, let me list a few shortcomings of this shoe: Incredibly slippery sole, poor stability and a bit more weight. Only when you come to Lhotse from La Sportiva or similar do you see why Alpina is Alpina and La Sportiva is La Sportiva. They are quite comfortable, nice and SIMILAR to top brand shoes. But this is not talking off the top of my head, but from experience, since I own them too. Some LS also have various weaknesses (breathe worse, less comfortable, high sole wear...), but as for safety, Lhotse is really "dangerous" shoe compared to LS.

Please explain how an uncomfortable LS shoe with worn sole on a completely sweaty foot can be safe? If uncomfortable you don't feel good - dangerous if worn sole - super dangerous if foot sweaty also not pleasant All together: with such shoe not even on flat!

Simply: Completely "worn out" sole from say LS Trango Evo will still hold on a slope with rocks, but for the NEW sole on Lhotse I can't say for sure... I assume you haven't tried both to talk like that. Anyway, that's all from me in this thread, I just shared my experience, now if you have a problem with that, that's not my business. Everyone should judge for themselves what suits them.

If Alpina Lhotse is a winter boot, it's a rather poor winter boot

Today I tried on Tibet V. There really is a difference in width compared to the previous series, so I'll probably get them. I also like the slightly deeper sole profile.

My experience with Alpina Lhotse is two repairs of the detached protective rubber above the sole. I admit the warranty was correctly accepted and repaired both times (heartily hope it'll be quiet now). Otherwise I also don't fully understand urbancek's post, or it lacks explanation. I use it as winter "gojzar" because it's robust. I tried it in early summer too, no issues, but the model is very high so the foot tires even higher, in my opinion more suitable for winter tours.

Not stiff enough... Let me add that in no GOJZAR so far has my foot been so "exposed" to ankle sprain as with this model... That middle part of the boot at the ankle is not stiff at all, unlike others, even much lower ones... Who knows, maybe I got some "off-series" pair , which for Alpina wouldn't be the first time... That's my experience. With all respect to other opinions, best regards!

That's your opinion which I categorically reject period . Ha ha what politics , joke joke, good for some serious "climbing" probably yes, in some gully no problem.

I got the Alpina Lhotse model a bit more than half a year ago for just over 100eur. For that money I think it's really an excellent buy, but I can't predict what will happen with the boot in the future. For now I can praise it more than criticize. The boot in my opinion is super for winter hiking. It's not overly warm, gets damp on the inside after some time. I tested it in wet, snow and dry. Personally for summer hiking it doesn't suit me (already because of the weight!), so I use it only in winter. Of course it's not a top exclusive winter boot - that needs to be assumed from the start. Given that we're on a mountaineering forum, I think it will serve well for winter hikes for most.
