Near Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih. Larger snake (photographed in green), was nicely sunbathing in the middle of the path so almost stepped on it, but it quickly slipped into the greenery. What snake it is experts will say (looks like adder to me).

Definitely an adder. Seems they've proliferated here. Ran into it near the hut where winter room is, in front where bench too, was sunbathing but withdrew right away when sensed me.

I know it has no meaning but still I'll try. Yesterday when daughter and I were just returning from Lidl in Sežana we spotted a cat. It was in bad condition. All dirty. Walking there after people, among vehicles. Like searching for someone. But then when it saw it won't find anyone it despaired and sat on asphalt. We observed it. It was pitiful, the animal. Daughter went for it and brought it. We put it in a box and took it home. Didn't resist at all. We bathed it. It was dehydrated and hungry. Now it's with us. Used to people. Someone probably had it. Since not afraid of people. Seems to me it was locked somewhere and maybe escaped. Because all dirty. Today better. Very cuddly. No fleas and ticks. Just skinny. Probably without food some time. Maybe has someone looking for it.

No one looked for him. Today taken to Horjul shelter where will get vet care. And decide how further. Still good people who help. Thanks Eda La Vita for help and transport of cat for whom almost no hope left that someone notices. But hope dies last.

Darinka, really commendable action! Too many people turn away at such events. They dumped kittens in our garden for quite some time, or they sought refuge with us, even the neighbor's cat didn't want to stay home but with us and we decided to adopt her. We also properly cared for all arrivals, kept some. We really love animals, especially cats, and animals sense it. Our current cuddly ones have been with us seven years.

Thanks. But I learned something new. A dehydrated kitten like this one is dirty because it has no saliva to clean itself. After being cleaned, he groomed for quite a while. They advised to rather take him to a shelter, if FIV positive he shouldn't live with other cats. Our cats avoided him. No contact. He stayed in the space I arranged for him. Really well-behaved. Hope all will be fine with him. Still see that scene of him wandering in front of Lidl. Sad and abandoned.

Cat whose owner died a year ago. When I go to Gora Oljka I bring her briquettes and a bag of food. She recognizes me from afar and happily runs towards me. Then we go together to the farm (currently no one lives there) and I give her treats. Has a kitten that flees and hides.
These photos I took a few days ago. She ran towards me and we went together towards the farm. Suddenly stops and jumps into grass after a mouse. Then we go to the farm. Mouse takes to kitten. I prepared food for her meanwhile. Hope we cooperate like this long.

I experienced such a case too. Lady had to go to home, lived alone with black-white kitten that wouldn't leave house. When walking our boxer past house, always brought her briquettes. Since vet nearby, gave her anti-flea and worm meds. Bonded so much she ran first to dog and they "kissed". Wanted to adopt but she wouldn't leave empty house. Son renovated, yelled what I do on his yard. Explained long bringing briquettes, said call police. When absent, secretly fed her. Cat "mysteriously" vanished when they moved in...
