I apologize if my mention of clothes bothered you or others so much, it's just observation, I didn't judge or accuse. I don't intend to argue cause no sense and not purpose of this forum, if it is for you, sorry. Safe in mountains everyone !!

P.S and the front points on crampons you're shortest...by 2mm, if you remember!!! Regards Klemen

Stop arguing and rather tell if the ski resort is open or there's still too little snow.....

Zelenica hasn't been operating for a couple of years. And the reason isn't just snow. Regarding the central one: gully(only the upper part actually has gully characteristics, below it's an avalanche chute) is suitable both for ascent and quick descent from peak B, just like Y and many other routes in B. Routes in B have probably been skied more times than climbed. Secondly, don't judge a person you don't know. It's commendable to have all the necessary winter gear with you, even if you don't need it. Better too much than too little. Klemen: let it go, no point... You learn the most from your own experiences. I'll report on conditions tomorrow. Regards, Juš

A few years ago there was an excellent dog track through the Main gully in Begunjščica, so I trotted to the top without any problems. 2.1.2012 I went through with poles and crampons on feet... Now conditions are such that you ski to the parking lot if you don't mind your thighs or have gravel shoes...

From Sunday: Today's test of snowpack strength in the Zelenica area showed extensive areas with deep slabs. These are covered with new or windblown snow and not visible without testing, but per ECT test and Norwegian method they are very unstable. In the mountains we recommend caution and ongoing checking of snowpack stability!!

Since the link to Begunjščica won't open for me, I'm curious about conditions in the central one, if anyone was there yesterday or day before. lp sharp

This info came by email 16.02.2012: "Hello. Since there's currently high avalanche danger at Zelenica, I strongly recommend the cable car. Best mountain regards, Stanko Koblar Hut warden and leader GUC Zelenica"

Conditions in the central gully are excellent, in the steepest part ideal hard snow, crowd was quite big. Descent via Šentanc couloir in the top part due to complete wind-scouring spiced with rocks, lower nice soft snow for fast descent. But the service road to the hut is closed due to avalanche danger. But on the Begunjščica side it'd be hard to talk about any avalanche danger.
