bdolmovi, interesting read, I didn't know that it exists too, well I prefer to stick to marked paths due to inexperience and lack of terrain knowledge, although I also stumbled upon an unmarked path to Stegovnik through the window, but I didn't understand why it's like that.

Garmont the initiative came from elsewhere to put some peg over the jump for easier passage. Hikers will go there whether there are protections or not, there was talk that it would be easier passage for mountain rescuers in case of rescue since you reach Korošica at least one hour earlier than over Presedlaj. Hikers once they know the path then go there whether secured or not, but really at own risk safety is first for everyone. Also over gamsov skret we replaced pegs and cables for safer passage although not marked path but cables have been there long because it's a hunting path. Yesterday 07.02.2014 we had a meeting in Komenda where the PZS vice president was present who said they discussed the problem of cyclists riding on marked paths and it was explicitly said again that any cycling on marked paths is legally prohibited as all were against. That's for info and nice regards and safe steps to all hikers.

"Explicitly" prohibited is also driving motor vehicles to Jermanca. Was there any talk about that? There's a nice marked path there!
Otherwise I don't ride a bike on mountain paths, but double standards bother me!

So we understand, I spoke up because constantly something is prohibited, once to some, other time to others. But we all cheerfully violate prohibitions. No alternative offered, on the contrary we go a step back, so cheerfully on foot, as in the past.
And now we will prohibit among ourselves who will go where or cycle...
But as I said, to Jermanca is really a nice path that doesn't lag behind those up there. I've never driven there and won't.

maybe not quite comparable. The road to Jermanca is made for trucks and tractors, passenger cars make relatively negligible little damage to the roadway. "All" of us nevertheless don't drive there, some go/went on foot from Bistrica - at least usually.
