Bivouac below Skuta

I think it's time to lock this bivouac. Key in a safelock or whatever it's called. You get the code by calling PD or some nearby hut where you explain circumstances for sleeping. I'm against locking but folk must understand these aren't free hotels for foreigners.

These solutions you say are free aren't at all. We taxpayers pay them. For irresponsible people from abroad they are free yeah.

Bravo Trobec, you've written this excellently!
I strongly hope those heroes read your note and think about their thoughtless adventure... I hope they've learned something for the future, because this time they got lucky, maybe next challenge ends differently...

Regarding locking this bivouac I agree. So far what I've seen in these years is meant for more or less various "parties" people, far from any hiker.

I remember bivouac under Špik when my colleague and I went to Rušica and more. In Rutah you picked up the key from the lady, think house no. 11, after the tour you returned the key and gave some change for wood and beer, which was usually there, also for gas since there was a stove inside. Told what condition the bivouac was in and that was it. Slept up there many times that way, great memories. Attic free of course, had to bring mat and sleeping bag. That's really good old times nasmeh

I thought that in the bivouac at Pod Špik there is still that regime ...

That English post is imo a troll. At least I hope. Don't feed the troll. nasmeh

I'm not really in favor of locking bivouacs because their primary purpose is "sleep in emergency case". Something you don't plan and it's hard to arrange the key beforehand. It's true that lately it has gone over all borders.
One idea I saw in Austria in bivouacs/winter rooms: little box for voluntary contributions, plus notices (not so explicit there), that in case of sleeping it's very proper to contribute something, or very immoral to exploit free sleep. Maybe notice about video surveillance and some fake camera velik nasmeh

Won't solve everything... but would deter some vacationer. And something would be collected for maintenance.

This with the box for voluntary contributions exists also here. For example, in the bivouac below Muzec I saw it.

Stop, you whiners, moaning here about this payment solution. For such there are 24h and various FB groups where you sheep and parrots have plenty suitable company.
As for parading in bivouacs, maybe only mountain "police" would help, locking is contrary to main purpose. True, our "insta" bivouacs everyone interprets somehow their own way, esp. foreigners and "donjuans". I believe most loud here somehow quiet when they run into such up there, dogs bark etc...

Of course. Smart ones retreat, why fight with a group in the bivouac. Look, we're just debating... I also like that official inspections would go up there a few times. But what can they do? I suggested that the key up there be just locked in a code box. And phone next to it to call. Code changes every now and then and that's it. Those jerks who stayed up there I wouldn't even bother rescuing. They can sleep up there and come down velik nasmehvelik nasmeh Or deliver them breakfast? The lesson must be educational, especially if not life-threatened. jezik

Bongo, you judge this bivouac incident and surroundings very broadly and lifelike. You've juicily rubbed us with sheep and parrots.
Lucieb087 nicely described the events and rescue. He also praised the rescuers, bivouac and surroundings. At the same time he warned hikers of the dangers lurking here.
Very kind of him. These are our future tourists and guests. Their rating and voice will attract new tourists from abroad. We want to be a tourist-friendly country after all. We can say heartily welcome! nasmeh

Lisica: Code box? They still don't know how to figure out e.g. parking in Vrata, let alone invent a coded box!

redbull, don't you travel at all, most apartments, houses you rent already have it, at least abroad. This key lock box has existed for a very long time, it's not rocket science. nasmeh link klik

lino, I don't know if we really want such tourists who go up here and leave the country a bigger bill than they're willing to pay.

Obviously only I and Red Bull haven't heard of this wonder of modern technology called Key Look or Rudy Run.
As for foreign tourists and hikers, be careful not to end up on thin ice of hate speech. nasmeh

Redbull, last time I saw them at Gredica in Konjice. They have 3 apartments inside, in front of the door on the wall 3 code boxes for keys. If you're interested and you bike around there e.g. look how this wonder looks. nasmeh

Lisica, but I'm talking about mountain stuff, bivouacs, parking in the valley and not thermal apartments. Regarding parking, bivouacs and such things on mountain topics we're in the Stone Age. We don't have professional rescue, but voluntary! Because of negligence rescue is free for the rescued, others pay! Everyone can walk in opanke and no penalty, in other alpine countries they'd squeak thinly. This is our SLO, banana republic
