I was yesterday (20.11.2016.) on Boč. Up Detička path and along Balunjača, down Sunny path and Babi. Nice thing, near the top there's still some snow...

Boč was foggy/very foggy today in the central part of the day. Trails wet, muddy and slippery. Short hike and connection Lajše and eastern paths through Stara Drevesnica to junction with forest road leading to Boč summit. Start and end in Studenice for Ypsilon trail. Western path through Stara Drevesnica to Boč target of short early afternoon hike in distinctly northern positions of Boč. To junction with forest road in right bend at 737m, leading to Boč summit and back. In December and January this area is practically sunless. Trail was frozen and unremarkable. Pre-Christmas Studenice in the part unreachable by sun in December embraced by white frost. Right choice today with some winter touch for higher on Boč. Along old Roman road and Studeniška path to Boč to junction/with Steep path to Boč and back. nasmehEvening activity from Studenice combining Old Roman road and Studeniška path to Boč to junction or fork with Detička mountain path to Boč from Zgornja Poljčane. Return back reverse route. In fog and rime for real winter impression. Today was the shortest day of the year...8 hours 38 minutes and had to use evening time. Trail relatively demanding, no hunting blinds on route, but I was mežikanjepotentially in range of hunting stands...Trail frozen and needed artificial light. Today in pre-Christmas late afternoon short circular hike in extreme western area of Boč. Here and there active in western part. Lovnik and Pečice area in rime and fog embrace. Also some white snow base on ground. Western area of Boč in short activity. Westernmost peak at 481 meters was of course easily reachable goal. Orientationally undemanding and also easily followable along ridge to highest point. Two-three cm snow from yesterday evening in Boč area. Temperature below freezing and snow of course dry. From Studenice through Stara Drevesnica on eastern path, descent on western path and connection between them via forest road leading to Boč summit. Whole route got loop shape. Second last day of year, few cm snow on Boč/forecast says won't last long and temp deep below freezing...interesting reasons for extra "hike" on Boč. Boč has quite some more or less old Roman roads. Today version most recognized by locals/studenicani. Very direct to Formilo clearing. Not much visited and heavily clogged with decayed trees. In summer very "suitable" to get "motherfu....", read ticks. Today real winter pleasure. First on ascent after fresh snow, meanwhile someone used it for descent from Boč. Descended on it too. Super mini activity...My album/Boč,30.12.2016 and Strava/Boč,30.12.2016...Evening another hiking "recon" to hunting stand before Studenice directly from Poljčane for some real "little" Boč...Strava/Hunting stand before Studenice settlement in evening hike,30.12.2016 Best regards!

Repeat of yesterday's activity. Conditions practically identical, maybe a degree or two colder. Interesting path, fairly steep between Golnik and Kisovec eastwards and Stara Drevesnica and Drevesnica westwards definitely excellent for quick breakthrough higher into Boč world...

On the first day of January along the forest road to the Boč summit... At 839 m turnaround. Met my son Domen running from Boč. Together on a hiking descent through Stara Drevesnica back to Studenice. Showed and told him about some things in the Stara Drevesnica and Drevesnica area... Better to know more than less when something surprises you on the paths. There's still some snow, the step reliable due to dry snow...

Triple Boč/Jasa Formila - Sv. Marjeta/church in Čača vas on Boč - Hunting hut Rogaška Slatina and Gavez farm. Central part of Boč, even in these short days with light on clear days points sunlit for some hours. Start in the evening in Studenice but on the left bank of Dravinja. Parking space in front of the cultural center Andrej Stefanciosa. This Studenice area is in the sun in winter time. Ascent on Old Roman road to its end or start of Lajše area. On descent extension to Pritensko clearing. Route got ypsilon shape. Haven't hiked this combination yet. Few cm snow for real winter feel. Step reliable. West winds strengthening. Around ten below freezing. Translucent clouds partially covered the moon. No (more) actives on the route... Central point of Stara Drevesnica on Boč is the goal of short hiking activity. This is the junction between western and eastern path. Small meadow clearing with hunting stand and feeding spot marks this point. Up to 10 cm dry snow.
