Today after a long time back in somewhat more familiar hillsnasmeh. Ljubelj - Prevala - Begunjščica (via Kalvarija) - Roblekov dom - Zelenica - Ljubelj. A few more photos... Cheers!

urbanček, today I took exactly the same path, only skipped Roblek. First time to Kalvarija and it really lives up to its name. Already a crowd at Ljubelj parking today.. Then on the path through Born's tunnels too and of course my goal, the Begunjščica ridge with main summit Veliki vrh. Coming up from both sides. I liked today's ascent better - you walk more than fifteen minutes as written below to the top. The ridge simply thrilled me. Shame no sun up there.
Tomorrow there will be an event here - everything is already prepared.1

Hi.. hope I'm writing in the right thread. Can you descend from Begunjščica summit via scree to the hut at Vrtača? Haven't been to Begunjščica yet, so sorry if I mixed up something. LP

Kacon you really mixed up a bit, no problem. There is no hut at Vrtača, probably you meant descent via scree towards Dom na Zelenici. Descent possible e.g. via Šentanski plaz, path more demanding, unmarked, so don't recommend for first time.

So via Šentanski plaz you can descend to Koča Vrtača (former restaurant at mid cable car station).

No hut at Vrtača (2181 m asl), but there is a hut named Vrtača located between chairlift stations at about 1300 m above sea level.

You can descend via Šentanski plaz, scree between Begunjska vrtača and the ridge of Veliki vrh Begunjščice. You'll literally run into the hut!

Ljubel, Planina Prevala, Via Kalvarija to Veliki vrh. Via Šentanski plaz to Zelenica. Entire trail dry, in near future presence of trail markers needed on some sections. (not on the scree)

Like this, a bit late, but anyway. Thanks everyone for the answers. On Saturday 21.9 we with my much better half headed via Zelenica to Begunjščica, found Šentanski plaz and descended it. That's pure enjoyment, if I didn't have ears I'd have a smile around my head nasmeh. LP

Bojan not sure if I'll answer you correctly, but if it's that scree above the hut at Završnica spring where SPP goes, I can assure you the SPP trail from Begunjščica ridge is snow-free, just very slippery and crumbly when wet, otherwise normally passable with a bit of care nasmeh

Data valid for Sunday 29.06. How much snow fell on Monday? Best to call the hut at Završnica spring +386 30 274 262, hope the number is still valid nasmeh

Thanks. I need the same scree as in picture 2, just higher up. Since I'm going Saturday to run T24 and wonder if we can descend via Smokuški plaz.
