Thanks for the info and during the descent we mežikanje ,,spotted,, it. From what we saw, quite an interesting hill and maybe sometime in the future Kozica included in a longer circular combination - ,,Trojan circle,,.

On the path from the hut at Vrhev towards Zajčeva hut, which they open on May 1st, a very special little dog accompanied us, he came running from some house and then kept going with us, didn't stop and we almost adopted himnasmeh, even though we have our own at home, which goes to the top of Krvavica and then towards Čemšeniška ... but halfway through the steep part he turned back, I don't know why, maybe he already heard two dogs that came soon after, of course together with a group of hikers.
His specialty was that he didn't take even a piece of food from us.
Seems to me he's quite used to such hikes.
LP!

Today on Čemšeniška planina there was a traditional memorial event at the monument with a gathering on the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the Revirska partisan unit. There were a few hundred people, so we waited quite a while for the snack. Otherwise a great event, the path from Planinski dom na Vrheh to Čemšeniška planina is well maintained and marked nasmeh
I recommend for next year velik nasmeh

Picturesque autumn Saturday invited us into nature and since it wasn't possible to go farther, it drew us to Čemšeniška and its peak - Črni vrh from the Prvine direction; weather summer-like favorable as everywhere these days, forest dressed in thousands of shades of autumn colors, rustling golden fallen leaves provided a light and soft step on mostly forest, continuously marked path, in front of the hut a huge number of mountain lovers, who were warming up with mulled wine in the warm autumn rays, over the Zasavje hills slowly sailed thin autumn mists; yes even here, on the lowland hills it's nice to feel the breath of autumn and enjoy its mystery, not only in the high mountainsmežikanje; lp

Today ČemPla is already white, yesterday during the day it was still dry. It was such a nice day that I went up twice. Both times from Jesenovo across the meadow. Once in the morning, the other in the afternoon, for sunset. It was wonderful to watch the sun setting behind Nanos. Attaching a few photos from yesterday's two trips.velik nasmeh

Neither the gray hat over its summit part, nor the flags flapping strongly in the wind with a big white donut on the Trojans didn't stop us in our annual January intention to imprint our footsteps in the winter-whitened Čemšeniška. The road was nicely drivable to Prvin, numerous hikers' footprints after the last snowfall carved a quite wide snow trodden path, which was covered here and there with ice (especially right below the hut), but at the edge still provided a safe step even without crampons. The cold wind really danced its dance properly and elicited almost eerie sounds of creaking trees in the forest, so it was all the more pleasant to be warm in the hut, known for plenty of cracklingsnasmeh; its supply quickly dwindled due to numerous mountain souls, which even the somewhat worse weather didn't turn into couch potatoes. Wider views got lost in the haze that spread across the sky and occasionally allowed even some sunray to peek into this world; but next time, when we can warm up again with mulled wine in the warm spring sun in front of the hut; lp

Hi, can someone please tell what the path to Čemšeniška planina is like - from Trojan, for example... Or from Ločica?

On Sunday I was up there, snow was 30-50cm. However the trail from Prvin to the hut is well trodden and no problem. Only the hut is closed weekdays.

Tomorrow right on carnival Saturday we're heading to Čemšeniško. Probably some snow has melted. How about from Ločica direct to Črni vrh, anyone know how snow is there?

@navdušena, your path goes along the north side of Čemšeniška planina and usually I always walked on snow in winter. The track is always there since lots of people enjoysmile newly fallen snow.

At some spots there can be drifts, as snow on the north side of Čemple usually holds on into spring, but the trail is trodden for sure, so no fear of much postholing. We're also going tomorrow and we'll talk after the tour about the conditions wink Lots of enjoyment @navdušena smile

The Čemšeniška planina is great to do circularly in combination with Jasovnik... Super tour, nice loop... Especially if combined with start at Trojane and descent from Čemšeniška to Ločica, Jasovnik is super to include. A few years ago I walked with a colleague in March under similar conditions as tomorrow on carnival Saturday, and we still talk about that path sometimes. Jasovnik is poorly marked but can be followed from Ločica on typical hunter paths and descent towards Trojane, where above Motnik it joins the E path towards Trojane... I wrote about it here in the entry from 12.03.2012... Trojan Loop. It's a solid length of around 27 km and 1500 m elevation gain and the same descent.
Attaching... GPS track.
Steady and especially safe steps anyway. Lp
